I presume they are faking their Sydney number that shows up on my screen and hence are probably calling from overseas and escaping the Do Not Call register.

Yes a marketing or global something or other - anyway they don't know what do not call lists are for!!! I just told them they had no right to call!

The woman said she was from Secret Shopper Australia. Called me by my name and phoned me at home. Asked me to join up as a secret shopper. So I told her to remove my details from their database as I was not interested. She started getting a bit flustered when I then asked how she got my details and she said NSW Information something. "Huh?" Then I asked what the contact phone number of the company was again, she repeated the said number and sounded a bit annoyed. Dodgy!?

(02) 8073 4138 rang yet again offering products from Harvey Norman and others to try and report back on. I told her I was on "Do Not Call Register" and asked her not to call again. She told me she would ring again, well if she does I now have my whistle which I will blow as loud as I can, when she does re-call after being requested not too. Personally this type of behaviour does not surprise me from Harvey Norman..

I get at least one phone call a week from a 'Private' number and it's usually some girl with a Filipino-sounding accent and a name like "Kathy" (today's call) or some other fairly common name. She says: " Hello. This is Kathy from Market Opinion. How are you today?" at which point I just hang up. I think this is one I first heard from a couple of years ago that got into a series of questions about household income, do we own our own home, and other financially-centric questions. I suspect it's all about some form of identity theft but would rather just hang up than take a chance.

Called asking to try products said her name was Michelle. My number is silent and on the do not call register. I promptly asked why they have my number, and she rudely kept on blabbling on about whatever she was selling. So I started talking to her like she was a kid and asked her how she got my number, she said some market research firm and then hung up on me. Rude af.

They have called numerous times - I have a caller display phone and don't answer them as they never leave a message on the machine. Must be a telemarketer or a scam.

Had a call, said hello, nothing for a second then a voice that sounded like a recording said hello, so I hung up. Rang the number back (God bless call ID), suprisingly answered by a recording assuring me the number I have called is not in service and I should check the number before dialling again. Hmm, maybe I'll just save the number as scam on my phone?

Do not call register is a waste of time. I now have a phone that I can block calls. It also has an auto answer function and voicemail. I am systematically blocking every scam call. I know, a never ending task. I no longer answer my home phone. Thinking of getting rid of it altogether

Yes, they've called me three times between the hours of 5pm & 7pm. I leave it to go to the answering machine & they hang up. They call on a regular basis.

Yes -- same here. They keep calling and it is 8pm. They call two or three times a day. Wish there was something I could do. I am going to keep a whistle near the phone and blow it when I get any nuisance calls

Get regular calls from this crowd. I don't answer but let ALL my calls go through to answering machine. My friends know what to do to get hold of me. Still annoying to be called/harassed at least once a day.
