This number has called me twice at odd hours 0726 & 2343, last 48 hrs- very very suspicious as it conincides with problems with my optus prepaid account and phone- voicemail 321 had been blocked, when I unblocked it I lost volume on my phone, can’t connect to Safari etc etc - all settings correct on my phone, until you delve deeper and find odd changes have been made to your phone... all coincided after tech and complaint escalation to TIO previously. It’s my belief These Are hackers/ scammers - with connections / knowledge of optus procedures. They left a voicemail message which is barely decipherable ie poor English, I have had to previously block a similar 02 number claiming to be from optus as being called at odd hours and phishing for identification and pin codes and finding my number not recognisable, and receiving fake sms claiming to be from virgin mobile saying my bill overdue and click on a link— —- any more persons not convinced this number isn’t part of a scam ? This is not a conspiracy theory or a genuine optus tech support number, Virgin mobile call centre shares same facility building call centre for optus in the Phillipines. They are hackers and scammers and keep reporting them to TIO and genuine Australian optus representative and scam watch.

Caller: 'Optus' NOT....... There is a definite pattern that has been occurring over SEVERAL YEARS. EVERY TIME I have reported an Optus fault or had any contact with Optus customer service, by phone or online chat, I start to receive PHISHING SCAM CALLS a couple of days later. Without fail - it is always the same. It is definitely NOT Optus calling back to follow up. Undetected malware or packet sniffing from the Optus system or rogue employees selling partial blocks of Optus customer information??? Optus customers deserve to know about this and Optus have a duty of care to fix the problem.

Calling me about a supposed reported fault on my NBN. I have not reported a fault, nor is there a fault. Seems to be a scam.

Bear in mind, Caller ID spoofing is a real thing, but in my case it was definitely Optus Tech Support.

Caller: Optus Technical Support I didn't answer first time as I didn't recognise the number but quickly checked this site and they called back straight away. I was expecting a call from Optus re an NBN speed issue and it was them setting up an appointment for a technician to visit my address.

Caller: optus tech support I answered a call from this number, as I'm waiting on a call back from tech support, but they hung up in my ear when I answered. Poor customer service Optus. Telstra was never this bad. then they'll contact me saying we've tried to ring you but you didn't answer.

Caller: Optus tech support Missed a call from this number, after having ongoing problems with my wifi. No message was left so I don't know who called me. I rang this number but it disconnected after telling me to either ring the sales office, customer support or to call the appropriate person at their relevant office, but it didn't give me any options. Not very helpful Optus.
