I also signed a petition for Amnesty International outside Roma St Train Station. They told me my ph number was just for Identification and would not be called but THEY ARE. If Amnesty International read this Pleasse stop hassling me. You are making it less likely I will help in the future which is going to disadvantage the real people you are trying to help.

Sounds like these guys are a third party employed by organisations like Amnesty Int'l and Energy Suppliers. They will keep calling you to get their commission. Looks like the Do Not Call register is the only way to go.

They have just called me and as soon as he asked me my name I hung up!! I don't have time for all these telemarketing bullsh*t calls when I'm studying. Best advice, just search for the number and then block it on your phone. It will go straight to voice mail!!

I have been getting these calls too. It’s a fundraising agency 2evolve they partner with different charities. If you email co****ts @ 2evolve.com.au then someone will take you off the list.

Just want to reply to Kevin's post about these calls being illegal - charities are exempt from the do not call register, so they are not breaking the law. Also, when we signed the petition we also agreed to receive a phone call to confirm our signature which is likely a very normal process required to confirm that the signature can be counted as legitimate. Please check your facts before you start spouting off.

I've been recieving calls for weeks and had no idea who it was- so great to find these comments, thanks everyone! I've called Amnesty on 1300 300 920 asking them to remove my number from their list. It is actually illegal for them to contact without consent or pass it on to a third party (2evolve) to do so (not to mention highly frustrating!!). I encourage you all to complain as well!

Same here - signed a petition for Amnesty & stupidly gave them my number. I've been a long term supporter of Amnesty, but this constant calling MUST STOP.

I too have experienced the same thing. They will call ONLY during business hours when i usually can't pick up, and again when i try to call back i get a pre-recorded message of a male voice. I have managed to pick up the phone call a few times and the other line is ALWAYS blank with no answer. i have blocked the number on my phone but still receive a txt. at least now i know its amnesty, they will definatley be hearing from me.

I too am receiving 2-3 calls a day. I signed a petition outside North Sydney station and got told they would not call or email but needed me to fill in these areas for identification. I have been receiving text messages, emails and phones calls during work hours which I cannot answer. Really stating to annoy me

hmm fyi amnesty international is breaking the law by calling anyone that is on the do not call register regardless whether you have signed a petition or not further more signing a petition does not give them the right to call you any one requiring a ph number for the purpose of records of a petition is a scam ........ any being pestered by them should report them to the Telecommunication Industry Ombudsman (TIO) as WHAT THEY ARE DOING IS ILLEGAL
