I called back number (02) 8027 2504 rang once then gets disconnected automatically.

They were from Coles Mastercard/ Citibank. Said since Citi Bank is taking over Coles Credit card, they are verifying details.They asked me my month of birth. Asked me if i was a senator, a member of parliament, a diplomat. I was hesitant about answering these stupid questions but do not want my credit card cancelled.

Basically they are making sure that they are not issuing credit card to any person who can misuse his position and not pay bills.

They phoned me as well and said they were from coles mastercard and asked me the month of my birth and then asked me if i was a senator, a member of parliament, a diplomat. I said no. Then they asked me if any of my family were a senator, a member of parliament, a diplomat. I said that coles would not phone up like that and ask those questions and i hung up. I am so fed up with calls.

Using an Indian accent as a disguise, they asked for my name etc...I immediately disconnected the call. They then called again, but instead asked if I was a Coles Mastercard user....

They were from Coles Mastercard - and i said it's not due yet. Then asked about postcode. asked me if i was a senator, a member of parliament, a diplomat. I said no, then asked whether members of my family were. Person was sarcastic as I wasn't friendly. I gave it a few minutes and rang the number and no answer - heard noises (call centre like) on the background.

These cold calls whether prank or better offers are getting out of hand.

I have phoned this number back and after 1 ring it disconnects...

Wish they would take a hike as I'm over all these annoying calls.

Person actually left message! Said they were from Watching Money and gave alternate number: 1300 325 213.
