These guys are SCAMMERS ! Tell them to "F.. off" ASAP. I got conned, I allowed access to my PC to view the alleged "Malware breaches". They asked for credit card details to purchase their anti malware software, which I refused. They managed to lock up my PC. I had to do a complete restart to recover the PC, which was successful. They were all Indians (David, Jason etc) supposedly calling from Microsoft HQ at North Ryde, Sydney . The 02 phone No seemed legit, but it was probably a call centre in India somewhere. DO NOT allow a conversation to develop, they are smooth operators, hang up promptly.

David the Indian called saying they are wanting to add security to our website as people are trying to misrepresent our website
Sent me to check the validation of my website
They could fix it permanently for $200 and I could use it on a 2nd website in the future. This one off fee has no expiry date.
Didn't sound right and I asked for a number to call back.
After hanging up I Google the number and this site came up.

This scammer was using the name of our web site hosting company eclick which is a legitimate company and very honest,. They scammed me for $300 + GST to update website, claiming we had errors and issues with our web site. They provided a BSB and account number for the bank transfer and it all sounded very legitimate. It wasnt until I chased up the Invoice with the legitimate company that I was told that I had been scammed, along with some of their other customers.

waste their time, it means many more ppl are not being scammed. Post on social media to always ask for the direct line and abn of these callers. If they wont giv it you know, if they giv it and it doesnt check out you know, if they giv it and its registered for less than 2 years then you also have a good idea they are fly by nighters. Why pay good maney to a web indian who has been in business only 2 years when you can see someone local.

Just had a call from some dude claiming to be from google in Perth? Wanting to promote my business to the top of the google search results, for free! He picked up the details from my listing on True Local. Initially appeared on my phone as "private number" so I asked him for a number I could call him back on next week. Then used this service to check, as suspected, scammer, hope he phones back next week.

They are still going in 2016. Why doesn't someone stop them?

I like to waste their time for as long as I can, and then drop kick them out them out of my Windows world.

I also got a call yesterday on a private number, an Indian guy called Allan from "Google in Perth" trying to sell me a web site and list my business at the top of google searches. They called me back today to explain a bit more about it, Allan then past me on to his "Manager" Miranda and she lost it at me for not buying her product i hung up on her, she then called back still on a private number a few times i didn't answer. Then i get a phone call from Allan on (02) 8014 7207 which i believe to be Sydneys area code so they got to Sydney from Perth in just 20 Mins HA.

I just had a call from an Indian lady too claiming that she was from Telstra technical support and that she gets reports saying that my computer is infected with a virus and people are trying to hack it. I must minimize my screens and follow her orders from my desktop and she will sort it out. I did do what she said as it was ironic that I was waiting for Telstra to call me at that time and had assumed it was them of course. I placed the code numbers she provided into my HP and she showed all of these RED errors and asked if I had another PC and I said yes and we did the same procedure once more by following her instructions to place code in my 2nd HP. Then she told me some dude was going to come to my house and ask for $5 to fix it! I said whattha hell do you mean my house? and then she asked for my name and age of which I knew then it was a scam and twigged that she was a fraud.I told her that Telstra were checking the line she was on and going to close in on her.She then proceeded to give me her employee ID: MS-00189, her name: Katherine Gomez and a computer reference: CRID888DC60 and that I need to verify the information by calling 1800 803 224 then ended the call.
My biggest concern is the information I have now placed on my hard drive as a result of her instructions, I do not know what to do if she still has access to my banking etc. I rang HP but hey are mainly concerned with technical hardware and not this hacking business but did say they have a division called Smart Friend of which never called me back,
Can anyone out there please advise me of what to do?

We have a calling number display unit and the original call came from this number: Overseas 14062664910.

Had a call from the above number yesterday and just chatted to the lady who had an Indian accent for about 10 minutes and then said that I had to go now. Today received another call from the same number and a guy with Indian accent. I chatted to him again for about ten minutes. He told me that I was quite silly and that I had to listen to him. So I did. And so it went on. Told him that I wanted to get rid of the pc anyhow and am using a mac. He then told me that the mac was affected as well. You can't win.

I then told him I really had to feed my five children now and that I would ring him back. The number he gave me is (02) 8014 7207 (New South Wales number) and his name was 'David'. I rang the number and blocked our number. After several rings an Indian sounding man answered with: "Customer service, can I help you?" Background noise sounded like a call centre. You can block your own number by dialling 1831 before a number.

The best way to counteract these scans is for community engagement. Get a number and ring them, and keep ringing them. No reason, ask them how they are. What do they tell their children when they ask what they do for a living, scam people. Like many electronic scams it is based upon the principle that they only need to catch the 0.1% who are gullible. Their systems cannot handle lots of people ringing back. It is our duty if you like to saturate their systems, save you parents/grandparents who may not be so internet aware.

I had a Max William call me saying I had internet hacked, saying he is from the australian microsoft technical department. He said that he needed to send a technician to my home and for a small fee of $5 my problem will be solved. He then asked for my name which I refused to give so he gave me to someone else to talk too which he said the same thing and that he could only pay for the fee through a credit card. He asked for my details and I said Im not giving anything and if you send someone here he needs to be in uniform and have the appropriate id. He then said "oh its just $5! whats your problem! you old bag!" lol and then he hung up. So i rang back saying everything they said to me and they told me to leave them alone! grrrrrrr! Indian named Max William?? yeah naah!

My Father just received a call from (02) 8014 7207. He was told on 3 different occasions to p#?$ off and still called back again.
I do not know why this number does not get disconnected? Weird? or maybe it brings the relevant communication company alot of $$.

Confirming again it is a number being used by scammers. Why haven't the authorities acted on this yet? Successful scams could be funding who-knows-what.

I just had an Indian sounding woman ring me claiming that she was from the "headquarters of Banks in Australia" and that my card was being hacked. She wanted me to confirm my card details with her over the phone (like Yeah really?). She said I could confirm her identity by calling (02) 8014 7207 (sound like a familiar number?).

She even reckoned that they had the three digit number off the back of the card.

There's no way that I'm going to confirm any card numbers to anyone over the phone, along with expiry dates and any other information. Sounds completely dodgy.

I must minimize my screens and follow her orders from my desktop and she will sort it out. I told her I am ending this call because I have no proof of her being associated with Microsoft. She then proceeded to give me her employee ID: MS-00189, her name: Katherine Gomez and a computer reference: CRID888DC60 and that I need to verify the information by calling (02) 8014 7207. I then looked up the number for Microsoft Support on Google and got the 132058 number. I called them and asked if they could verify the information. They said they would not make calls like this. They stayed on the line and wanted me to ask her what her email address was. When I got back to the call, she had ended it. The guy at Microsoft Support told me to get her email address and department if she calls again and call them back on the 132058 number. The Indian lady called back and said to me that she is waiting from my call to the (02) 8014 7207 number. I then proceeded to tell her that I called the 132058 number instead and that they asked me to get her information. She then ended the call.
