I was called on 12th May 2015 by an "Officer Eric Foster" supposedly from the Australian Taxation Office (ATO) claiming the ATO was launching an investigation into me and the police would be sent to arrest me over tax irregularities. He has an Asian/American accent. Also got a similar call from a "Michael Ray." It's a total scam. Hang up then report it to the ATO.

I have received a msge from Eric foster ATO saying ring them immediately other wise there will be a case against me. Who from the tax office says thanks and god bless. d*ckhead scammers.

I received an intimidating phone message from an alleged inspector Eric Foster, claiming to be an ATO Officer with an arrest warrant. He asked to call back on this number. Pure scam as this is not a approach used by ATO officers. Please Be aware

"I am facing Serious Lawsuit against my name and unless I want to face Hard & Unwanted Legal consequences, I should return his call."
If I do not call him it will effect my Social Insurance and I will face a State Investigation.
Call him to avoid consequences.

Got the same call but from number (02) 6145 0123

This is a scam. They call pretending to be the ATO (you'd have to be crazy to believe them) and say that they have an arrest warrant with your name on it. They then ask if you have a lawyer, if you don't they try to take money from you.

Eric Foster from ATO left a message. Serious lawsuit filed against your name etc. Doesn't use your name - just you. Ends with Have a blessed day. How dumb do these clowns think we are? Called twice from 2 consecutive numbers (03) 8103 5054 & (03) 8103 5055.

Eric Foster is still at it. ATO - legal threat - ring him back - you're in big trouble 'serious legal suit filed' - against whoever picks up the phone apparently! It's probably an African accent of some kind - not American, not Asian, carefully and clearly enunciated as if from a script. Recorded since the call ends with the delivery of the message. I wonder what their line is if you should ring the number back. Can't recall the number except that it began with 02 so I suppose it's from Sydney. But you have to ask why Telecom has not launched its own suit against him for using their services as a carriage device with threats and extortion intent.

I just had a call from Eric Foster stating that there is a serious legal claim made against me and I must return the call to (02) 6145 0123 or I would be in serious trouble. Also ended with thanks and god bless...weirdo!

He's back 21 April '17....I assume that this is going to be one of many, until I get arrested.

Just had the call, new his number is (02) 8103 2030.

I asked for his number and said I'd call him back.

I rang the wrong number and reported it to the ATO.

You are a great guy Eric.

We arrived home from holiday to find Eric had rung us twice while we were away. First with a final warning if I did not ring him back, then with a threat of arrest if I did not respond, needless to say I have not rung back as yet, it is surprising the phone companies don't shut this scammer down.
By the way the calls were from 2 different numbers.

We had a client ring us today regarding a text and then a phone call he received from this phone number, claiming there was a law suit being filed in his name because of a tax debt he owed the ATO. The client actually did have a tax debt with the ATO so he rang us to find out what was going on. Our receptionist rang the number (02) 8007 3436 and it was answered by Eric Foster from the ATO and advised that the text was correct and we needed to speak to his supervisor but they were currently unavailable. Our client then received another ph call from a 'Ray Marshall' claiming to be from our office (not the ATO) and even our phone number came up in the 'calling number display' so the client was thinking this was legit. 'Ray' threatened that the police would show up at his door if he didn't pay the outstanding amount immediately. Thankfully, he hung up on the guy and rang our office and put him at ease.
You do not have to be an idiot to believe these people - they are sophisticated and sometimes accurate in their approach.
I do not understand how they are still operating??? How difficult is it to track down someone through their phone number???? In this day and technological age??!!

I had the same bogus call today. Time to report this dangerous clown.

I've been called by this guy twice in the last week. It's now three months since the first report of scam calls from this number on this page. I can only assume that this guy has had some success in that time if he's still doing it. That's very sad. It's amazing he hasn't been shut down yet. The police is really letting us down here. How hard can it be to at least shut down this number?

Received calls from this number twice in 2 days with the same threatening tone. When I started to question him he hung up. I phoned the number back and demanded to speak to him and the woman(both with strong Indian accents) hung up on me also. The interesting fact is that as a pensioner I don't pay personal income tax but do so as Treasurer of a Body Corporate. I have to wonder if this is how they had my number.
