Says contact us or we issue a warrant for your arrest. Total scam. ATO never would send a message like this via a recording. They always would write to you to negotiate any debt.

bunch of f*ckers purporting to be from ATO and stating arrest warrant to be executed and that I must call phone no (02) 8006 9496. Where is the FED police in all of this. About time that they pulled their fingers out and arrested these pricks.

i do not consider this is a joke at all, 72 years of age, still working, coming back from work exhausted and tired, and here it is such a nasty call. where is the police in all, have we to change our phone numbers every now and then. where are parliament members. for how long are we going to be easy targets to these people, what about if they could reach a vulnerable person!!!! what a mess!

Haha, this is a best joke :) I returned the call, guy claimed that he is from "ATO special investigation unit". when I questioned him, disconnected the call and never picked up.

So-called Federal Police call to my business number saying I have ATO Debt and to reply to this number to avoid arrest warrant. Problems with this:
a) ATO does not use Federal police to debt collection
b) ATO only uses 13..... numbers to call back
c) ATO reference number quoted by them is fake. ATO reference numbers are usually at least 10 digits long.
d) Any calls from ATO debt collectors confirm your identity before proceeding.
DO NOT CALL THEM BACK OR THEY WILL RECORD YOUR PHONE NUMBER AS BEING AN ACTIVE LINE AND YOU WILL PROBABLY GET A LOT MORE CALLS FROM OTHER HOAX CALLERS.
