this number called our homes not just once but many times they used to call in the afternoon and I told him we do not have a car so insurance whatever it is we do not have it nor want it. and this morning first time they called again I asked him who gave him our number and that we are jobless and I said if what he is offering is free and he hang up. I hate this guy calling sometimes you are doing something in the house you just have to stop to answer.

This message comes to me every month or so. Is there any way to block it?
Definately a car insurance scam. "Our records indicate you have had a car accident in the last two years and are owed money from your claim. Can we have your banking details so we can transfer the amount owing" Replied: Just send me a cheque to collect at the nearest post office. You obviously have my name and phone number. Result: They hung up on me for some unknown reason and I wonder why!!!

They've called me 2 times under an unknown number with this insurance scam and yesterday called with the number (02) 8006 2329. I'm going to report them to the feds and until they stop I shall be giving them a lovely wake-up call (which I can hear they are manually rejecting) at 4 or 5AM every morning until it is resolved. :)

I have received a call from this number at my work for the last 3 weeks up to 7 times a day. I'm now answering the phone to them with out saying the company name otherwise they hang up. But now I'm playing games with them and putting them on hold whilst I go and find this so called person whom has had the car accident. Or I'm asking them questions and they are saying they cant hear me and are hanging up... Getting fed up with this crap.... The next time they ring I'm going to tell them that the person they need to speak it has lost their ears as they were chopped of by the helicopter as it came crashing down to the ground so I will have to do sign language for them......

It's really simple. just play along, with Biro and paper in hand, and just make up lies as you go , e.g. you name , D.O.B, SCENE OF ACCIDENT etc, in relation to their question's, so when they ask again you have everything on paper and don't forget. : I used to get really angry and very abusive [which i really enjoy !!!!! ], now I play along and waist their time with lies and BS, Try it it's great fun, especially when you can hear their cog's grinding away trying to work out if they have the wrong number or person, [ BUT NEVER CONFIRM ANY OF YOUR DETAILS- JUST FEED THEM A LINE THAT THE PERSON THERE LOOKING FOR SHIFTED OUT LAST YEAR AND YOUR THE NEW TENANT - AND NOT OWNER !

I have had this number call and many more scammers to my home phone, so I had had enough and decided after reading about Telstra Guardian phones I bought one and it is the best money I have spent on a home phone...It wasn't expensive and there are other brands out there as well..The person ringing must introduce themselves if the number is not a saved number which they wont do if they are scammers..If it's a blocked number you don't even know they have called but it does come up on the call list when you check your phone..

Another one bites the dust

"Car accident" scam, asked them for details, just to drag out phone call, he asked me if anyone I know had an accident and they can help them get the money.
Asked him what's his story, as he's calling me, asking me about making a "claim", yet now changes and wants names of people who may want to be 'scammed". He goes (read in Simpson's Apu accent) "this is not a scam sir, we are a reputable business" .
I've asked him if his call centre had shut down and they're now employed to scam people, he hung up.
Blocked this number by utilising call barring feature (panasonic).

Number came up on home phone while I was out. I have had this number before, Accident Support Scam, told him that it was a scam, that he was an IDIOT & not to bother again. Said he would continue ringing me. Fine by me, I won't answer & he can pay for the call

This number rings and does not leave a message on the answering machine. When you try and call them back their phone keeps ringing and it just cuts off. Sick to death of nuisance callers.

They have rang me 3x times over the last 7 days. But this time I decided to waste their time. 15 minutes on the phone for the scammer to realise he was being made a fool. Oh and his so called name was "Robert" with a extremely strong Indian accent that was at times impossible to understand. It was a Car Accident scam - where he want all my personal information. He then became abusive and threatening telling he was going to sue me and take me to court and take all my $ for wasting his time lol.
I then asked for his full name as I have the whole conversation recorded. He yelled at me a few more times before I hung up.
I have reported this to the ACCC as well.

Keep calling us with the 'accident' line but hang up as soon as they realise it's a business.

I suspected a scammer. Didn't know my first nmae or car rego no. Asked her her religion as a non sequeter and she hung up. I can curse them in their own religion. eg a Hindu / Buddhist will never reach their highest level if they are bad. A Christian, Muslim etc will go to hell for being bad in this life.....

hee, hee.....

Don't provide any personal information or bank details to anyone over the phone. These are scammers - not insurance agency. Caution the caller that you will report them to the police.
