Just got a call from Angelina saying she was from Windows. I told her I knew it was a scam, she said it wasn't & that we'd had a problem with our computer yesterday (which is true) She prattled off a heap of info & sounded legit. Gave me 2 phone numbers 1800 764 751 & Sydney headquarters (02) 8006 9015 so I could check that it was legit. She pushed me to turn the computer on & she'd prompt me through it even though I've never used it, then I could show hubby when he gets home & ring them back. Told her I didn't have time & get hubby to get back to them. She was ok with that. I'm usually on to them but was confused because they usually hang up when you tell them you know it's a scam & they usually say they are checking for viruses but had said we had one. I will never do anything without checking & rang Microsoft & he assured me it was a scam. Thankyou to the people who've taken the time to post on here to warn people. I never knew of this site, only stumbled on it when checking the number.

I work at a computer repair shop and just received a call from an elderly customer named Bill. He stated that he just received a call from someone called Monica calling on behalf of Genesys and gave him this Sydney number (02) 8006 9015 after he informed her that he was busy and will get back to her. Instead of calling her back, he rang us. He told us what happened and wanted to know if he needs to worry about his computer. I re-assured him that based on the interaction, his computer was quite safe and not to worry about.
NOTE: There's only 2 ways someone can access/see what's happening on your computer. 1. They are phsyically in front of it, it's turned on and they're working on it. 2. They have access to your computer via a Remote Access Session.
When you receive such a call, as long as you don't follow their instructions to turn your computer on and click and type what they want you to and don't give them any information, you are save.
Windows is a program known as an Operating System...It is not a company and there is no such company. Windows is a product owned by a company called Microsoft.
Microsoft will never ever call you for any reason. There is no way for them to see or know anything about your computer or what's happening with it unless one of the 2 a fore mentioned methods is used.

I just received a call from 0407 320 788. Same scam as noted above - first said they were calling from Windows, then said they were calling from Apple, said they were calling about hackers getting into my computer that I couldn't see. I asked for a number to call back on and was given (02) 8006 9015. Said I'd call back and hung up.

Caller: Angelena from "Windows" Tried to get me to allow them into my computer but I got the phone no. and checked Reverse Australia. They were insistent that they were not scammers until they worked that I was not going to believe them. Their "I'm an expert" attitude then became abusive and they hung up.

Caller: Jenny She sounded very convincing and genuine especially as I've had some problems lately with Windows on my PC. It seems everyone does. She persistently kept telling me to turn my computer on. I wouldn't and told her I would check the number out and get back to her. Of course I haven't. I'm glad I checked the number.

Marie Anderson is very persistent and I really think it is about time somebody does something about this! I was so confused with what she was saying and as I had been having problems with windows I wasn't sure what to do until I read your comments here. Thank you everyone for posting your comments because you have helped me.

Similarly, I have received 3 calls from a persistent and quite convincing Marie Anderson (02) 8006 9015 basically getting frustrated that I had not called her back and wanted to know why not....rude b..... I told her to talk to my computer people after she had led me a long way into the process before I stopped going further. My computer people tell me this lot eventually are after money for their services. They don`t call your computer people as they know too much.

Same for me and I fell for it and pulled the plug when she talked about money. Unfortunately she left my computer in such a state that I have to reinstall Windows 10. Surely the police could investigate the location of this number in Q'land and put a stop to it!!

Hi, yes this line is still active. Has anyone reported this twitt's to ScamWatch. They get easily frustrated also, so go ahead and prank them. They want to waste consumer's time, so go waste there's. Verbal abusive once called a scammer. Yelling threw the line wouldn't reveal location.

Hi, I had a phone call from this Angelina Wilson about viruses on my computer and she said she would guide me through the process of eliminating them, she said she was legitimately from Microsoft and that reports had been sent through to their IT Department. I have had phone calls from both these numbers in the past and I never clicked until now, and have since hung up and ignored them.

I had a call from Angelina Wilson, who gave her number as (02) 8006 9015 and said she was from Windows, and immediately accessed my computer as it was on! She said that she got our details from registering our new purchase of a Surface Pro 4 - which we did last Thursday!

I had a call from my distraught (elderly) parents who had a call today 05/02/2016 from this person and claimed they were representing Microsoft technical support. Fortunately my parents did as I had suggested if they happened to get a call from these "SCAMMERS" and didn't let them gain access to their PC. They did manage to get the name and numbers ( Maria Anderson 1800 764 751 or (02) 8006 9015)
