Had a call from the Indian call cent claiming we were entitled to $5000 from an accident 2 years ago, the only problem I had ,was that my wife was in the wrong
Money is not given for no reason

Just had the call from a male with the indian accent, from the indian call centre.
He said that someone from this phone number reported was involved in a car accident 2 years ago , couldn't give me any other information and that the person is now entitled to some compensation payment. I asked for a date, name, where and type of car but she couldnt advise, only the phone number they were given. She was calling from the Australian Claims Authority. The number came up on my caller display as 8006 7373. I googled them and came to this page to see that heaps of others had the same issue. SCAM

typical scam artists. Luckly my son caught on and gave them dodgy details. When I phoned back phone number it was typical couldnt answer my questions.

(02) 8006 7373 phoned me, typical scam/lies, gave this number to police and various phone company ''scam caller'' lists.

I have had two calls from (02) 8006 7373 in the past couple of days too and seeing it is an (02) number have let it go through to my answering machine. As soon as they get my message they instantly hang up!! I too am on the Do Not Call Register so am wondering where they got my number from!

I have just received a call from this number and also another call from 161280067373 on 15th october, advising they had information that I had had an accident in last two years and that I was able to get compensation. Sydney Claims Lawyers was the name as well. I told them I didn't believe them and it was a scam - I called back and a male answered the phone advising that I am able to get compensation and that it was 'real'. When I suggested it was a scam and that I would call the police he called me a liar and suggested I call the 'army' as well

Just had the call from Liza (Lisa) with the indian accent, from the indian call centre.
she said that someone from this phone number reported was involved in a car accident 2 years ago and it was a rear ender accident and that the person is now entitled to some compensation payment. I asked for a date, name, where and type of car but she couldnt advise, only the phone number they were given. She was calling from the Australian Claims Authority. She gave me a ph# (02) 8006 7373 to call them back on. I googled them and got their 1300 number and it is just a leave your name and number message with details of your accident and someone will call you back!
I then googled the 02 number and found this page so called the number back and spoke to another Gentleman who advised they were in sydney and when i called bullsh*t after telling him that I once lived in India setting up call centres in one of the states (i gave him precise details of location in india) he started becoming honest and said that they say things like Lisa told me to drum up business for the lawyers for anyone who may have had an accident in the last 2 years and they then pass on those details to the lawyers to make compensation claims. He was in India in an office with about 120 other people making the same calls today!
This is just a classic example of Ambulance Chasing!!

I work in a small office and all at once 3 phones started ringing, these phones have different phone numbers attached to them. A quick check across the handsets all showed "unknown caller" so I answered on and the rest stopped ringing. Short delay then someone how said his name was Steve Johnston from Sydney Claims Lawyers was calling about an accident I had in the last 3 years. Hahaha. It was clear he didn't know anything and was just fishing for information. I strung him on a bit and figured I had better things to do so hung up. Oh I did google the address and phone number they gave me (3 113 Elizabeth St. Sydney (02) 8006 7373) which is how I found this site. They are a total waste of time.

Just had an indian woman ring claiming to be investigation a car accident in the last two years. I told her that I would be calling the police immediately
to report her and the number she was calling from as being a scammer. She immediately terminated the call. We also have a silent number or so we thought !!

Have had 2 calls today from these losers.They call saying they are from Accident Claim Investigation.When I told him I hadn't been in any accidents and to stop calling he told me to wait...but I abused him for disturbing my Saturday morning twice!! The number came up as a Private caller...I'm using a whistle next time.

They hung up when I answered the phone with our Business greeting. Next time I'll just answer 'hello' and give them a serve.

Would this coincide with a recent call to 000? We had a lady come into our office last week with chest pains so we called her an Ambulance. I hope the government isn't selling our information to these creeps.

The Sydney number is just a facade, my phone picked up that it was an overseas caller.

They called me twice today. I denied any accident, they then tried to insist I must have had some sort of accident, somehow. I told him no, and he hung up. They rung about two hours later, and knowing they were a scam, I cut off his speech the second he said "I am calling from Australia". What company that is ACTUALLY Australian, tells you that they are calling from Australia? Idiots!!
Anyway, I cut them off, told them they had already called me today, and before I could utter a single further word, they slammed the phone in my ear. Not a simply hang up, but a very loud click. Clearly I hit a nerve when they had gotten nothing out of me twice in one day.

As we have multiple lines in our business and we receive numerous calls weekly from (02) 8006 7373 asking to talk to the person who has had an accident, when we ask who exactly they want to speak too they can not provide a name. They are what you call ambulance chasers. They take on a I am a VIP and you need to speak to me attitude. This is a total scam and who ever the telephone provider is they should discount them.

Just received a call from Lisa , with a very strong Indian accident claiming this (my) number was involved in an accident within the last 2 years, just got this new number two months ago..... I ask her for the number plate or make and model of the car involved which she didn't know. I asked for her number and told her I would check it out with the police after telling her I think this call us a scam. After looking up the number she gave and searching on this site it looks like my suspicions are correct. Don't know how we stop these class or who to report it too.

Just had the same deal from these scammers claiming 3-4K would be payable and to talk to there lawyers tomorrow. I dont think so!
How does these guys get your number when its slient??

Had this number call today, very thick accents and hard to understand claiming to be from an Accident Investigation Centre claiming that myself or one of my family had had an accident and they were given our number. Told him no, we have not had any accidents and he said not someone in your family not hit by a car at all or even crossing the road. Told them they were scammers and hung up. I called them back on the number and he did answer and got aggressive when I asked him questions on how he got my number seeing as it is a private number and we are on a Do Not Call register. Asked to speak to his manager and apparently he is the manager, told them they were a bunch of scammers and he laughed saying "yeah right, we are scammers"...they must think Aussies are gullible. Contacted Telstra complaints and Telstra Unwelcome Calls.

Just had this creep call wanting info relating to an accident in last two years. Hung up when realized it was a business and couldn't give us a name or details of said accident

Thus number just called and said they were calling about an accident claim I have , they followed that up by asking me if I had ever had an accident - talk about stupid. When I said no they hung up - WHAT A SCAM - the numbers are just increasing.

Just had a call from these creeps dangling the possibility of "compensation" following a car accident "associated with this number". Claimed to be from a NSW gov't department ("Accident Investigation Department"). I told "Adam" I believed he was trying to scam me and he embarked on a spirited defence ("Don't take this the wrong way" etc). I said I'd investigate and, using the phone number he gave, ended up at this site, where I confirmed the scam.
