Apparently the address is located at 123 Pitt St Sydney on the corner of Angel Place.

just had a call from Sofie Joan asking me to ring Andrew Anderson on this number. As I have been a pensioner for 11 years I didn't think I would have overpaid taxes by more than $5000 as she said so Google d number and found this site.

This bullsh*t. The Government and the police must be in on this scam, or they would have fixed it long ago with all the complaints received.

India is full of bullies and scammers. Can't earn an honest Rupee, lets scam foreigners like the Africans do successfully! That hasn't been closed down either. ALL CORRUPT GOVERNMENTS, SO THE PEOPLE FOLLOW THEIR EXAMPLE!!! (Including Australian Governments such as the Fascist SA Government)

We had the same people call, confirmed Mum's first name and D.O.B., which she did, mainly because she was confused (she is mid 50's and has a disability). They asked her to call Sydney (same number, same people) but she felt it was odd, and I convinced her that ATO was in Canberra, not on a private Sydney line.

I also got a phone call for the same rip off. However as soon as they said I had to go to the PO and get a money order for Western Union, bells started ringing. I had a whistle so I let it blast away in their ear. Then I contacted the australian federal government reclaim office. No such place. Unfortunately I did give my date of birth. But they had all other details . I have sent the phone number and Ref number to the government fraud squad. Let's hope they get caught.

Once again they have preyed on the elderly. It is worth reminding people that Australian Government Departments (in this case Centrelink) (i) has account details and therefore would not requirement them, (ii) usually deposits increases and subsidies through your account - not by cheque, and (iii) would normally send out a formal letter weeks before informing you of their intention to give you a rise, subsidy, rebate etc.

I received a call this afternoon (1654 hrs) from Rhianna Johnson of the Reclaims Department for the Federal Government located in Sydney, saying I was owed $5248. They told me that they would be sending me a cheque then asked which bank I would want the money transferred from. I told her I didn't care anyone would do. Rhianna asked for my Date of Birth (DOB)to confirm that it was me she was talking to, however, I gave her a false DOB and she confirmed that it was correct, I was asked to call the number (02) 8005 7523 and I had to quote my Reference Number Rhianna gave me, RJ 5412 and speak to her boss as he was the only one who could authorise the payment.
These scammers rang on my mobile the instant I hung up (my landline) from my bank, with information that was very close to what we had been discussing, so I reported them also to my Bank. However the information they where using - my name, address and mobile number are freely available to the public.
