I had the same message on my answering machine. Any government authority would NEVER leave threats on an answering machine. They send letters.

Don't know why Telstra or ATO doesn't do something about this number - its been operating a long time and some people would easily get stressed by it and just understand the words "arrest" and "execution" not in context. People who come from o/s and have poor English would be out of their minds especially if they come from a violent background!

This is a total scam! Threatening with a recording message that we have violating some tax with the ATO! F***ing BS! They should lock these people up!

Again a message left saying that we had to call this number as there was a warrant out from the tax office. I agree with the others, if there was a warrant it would be properly served on you. Thank you for prior posts, we have not called back.

Pathetic pretaped message from phony AFP beckoning recipient to contact above number re fabricated ATO anomolies. Yes, if you where right minded, you'd think telstra would have done something about this scam, but obviously they're getting way to much revenue from the suffering of their lowly clients.

Just rang me today saying they are Australian federal police and a complaint had been made about me and to ring the ATO on this number. Scammers!

Just answered one of these calls at work, same thing as stated before, there is a British automated messages saying the police have been contacted regarding ATO and even gave me a case number. This is getting ridiculous.

Foreign male who was trying to speak in good Educated English. He said , I am from the Australian Federal police there is a complaint taken out against your name. I then asked him to give me his name but there was no pause in his speaking. I would say that what this person had to say was from a tape. Since this appeared to be another scam. I hung up

This recorded message said that they were from the Austrralian Federal Police and that they had received a complaint from the Australian Tax Office. I hung up.
