Caller: (02) 8005 1360

Please don’t talk to them, Indian calling saying he wants my tax file number, I made one up and he said it’s locked . Asked for my name otherwise I would get arrested, so I said my name is Harry c*nt. He then said “ you f*cking bastard”
I work and make good money, shameful for them that they can’t make their own money, very sad Indian

I was not able to record the number the call originated from but (02) 8005 0808 and 1360-780-3808 were the numbers the caller volunteered.  The story was almost exactly the same as those written in the log for (02) 8006 1200.  An Indian male claimed he was calling from Windows Support Department Log 2 Rescue in Melbourne Australia.  When it was pointed out that it was a Sydney number he changed his story to yes it was Sydney.  He knew that I ran both Windows XP and Windows 7 so he must have got that information from someone.  Windows XP is on an old computer and I don't use it to connect to the internet any more.  He got me to run EVENTVWR which he said would show the warning messages Microsoft had been sending me then to run INF to see the files which were infecting my computer.  Then he told me he was going to put me through to someone who would help me.  When I asked whether this meant giving up control of my computer he said yes.  I then asked him to put this request in an email he said yes and hung up.  Two hours later no email and now after reading some posts on this site I am pretty sure this is an end to it.
