Had a call from windows saying I had made a payment of $200 in June 2011 and because their technical dept was now no longer funtional they wanted to refund me this amount of money and would I open my computer and give them my online banking details or credit card details so they could refund this into the account , the caller said his name was Mr James Franklin and to call him back on this number his id number was given as MSW 5786 after I queried why they would give this refund he said he was from the 'refund dept'and my name was given to him. He could not pronounce my street name or suburb correctly and had a broad accent, I was quite rude to him but this did not phase him one bit. I asked them to send a letter giving the details.

Caller claimed to be from Microsoft Windows and said I they had been receiving many error messages from my computer. Said system would crash unless fixed. My husband asked for a phone number and said he would ring them, which he didn't. Believe it is a scam to access computer.

Scammer. Pretending to be from Windows/Microsoft, they can see my computer has problems. Became verbally abusive.
