A call today claiming to be from ATO Tax Avoidance, demanding that I or my lawyer immediately call back to that number. Caller's accent suggests not raised in Australia. Scam??

The ATO will usually use ur MYGov page to contact you if required & always in writing people please report these & other calls like them

Yes I got the same message. Sounded like an automated voice. The tax office would never speak like that or demand we get a lawyer! Creepy.

ATO fraud phone caller demanding my lawyer or me to call back

I received a recorded voice message supposedly from the tax office, asking me to call back on this number. I tried calling several times, the phone answered - then hung up without responding within 2 seconds.
