Absolute SPAM Be careful this guy is a dud. Puts a pop up on screen saying Ring Microsoft on 1800 749 170. It doesn't answer and he then has your number and he rings you back and IF you follow his advice, you have just been ************.

Caller: SAID HE WAS PETER, FROM MIRCROSOFT

SCAM, he said my computer had been hacked. Everything looked so legit and he was very, very convincing that he was from Microsoft. I did not realise he had taken control of my computer- said I was entitled to a $160 refund (Anti-Virus credit) immediate transfer of $16K appeared in my a/c, which he wanted refunded, saying I had made the error and I must go to bank immediately, withdraw cash and then go to another bank (prefer National) and bank the cash (he would stay on the phone while I carry out both actions and do not tell anyone for legal reasons. I ended the call, went to my bank who identified that he had transferred the $16K from another of my accounts - One feels so stupid – thank goodness I did not lose any money. Unfortunately, I am now worried about Identity theft. The other number used was (02) 8660 1377
