After reading these coments I can see how I nearly got caught out, Retone should pull out of NZ as we don't need this sort of company in New Zealand.
NZ is a small country and word gets around very fast.
They sound great at the start but then the fun begins.

I was just going to Retone's website for cartridge collection when I saw this forum. My business has been using them for years. I was under a contract with the printer I bought for my business previously. That's the real scammers. I was paying over double what Retone offered me and have never had a problem since. They also planted Tree's for my business and were never late in delivering anything. I don't get why people think just because its via telecommunication that it's a scam. There are so many laws in place any business has to go through. I'm just assuming your staff dont want to take the heat.

My experience with retone has been extremely disturbing. Their current pitch involves calling businesses and convincing the business owner that they have taken part in a 'survey' a few months ago and as such have agreed to take a medium pack of 3 cartridges waiting to be sent out to their buisness ! They will tell you that they are longer lasting and premium quality which is also a lie !

THIS IS WHEN IT GETS REALLY DISTURBING!! ... They will then convince you that these cartridges are going to be released in all retail outlets shortly and that the cartridges are made in retones factory ! This is also false haha, the cartridges are cheap remanufactured generics from China and are marked up by retone so you pay premium prices ! You will be told you can return the cartridges if they don't work as part of the trial, this is also FALSE!

RETONE WILL NOT REFUND YOU IF THE CARTRIDGES DONT WORK!!!

Do not be fooled by these con artists ! Furthermore their repeat team will call you 2 - 3 months later insisting they gave you a bulk rate price for the cartridges and that they have the rest of your delivery waiting to be sent out despite you never agreeing to this or being told you where ordering the cartridges in bulk!

RETONE ARE THE BIGGEST SCAMMERS!!!! Do not accept an order from them or believe anything they say about someone in your company ordering from them! They have wasted so much of my time with phone calls, sending toners and an invoice that we didnt order and then lying about a past colleague ordering toners! They are unbelieveable.

Keep calling us and hanging up! We are a business . Finally tracked down who they are. Pesky annoying callers! Stop calling us in NZ!!!

Retone say they want to help save the Rainforests, one way would be for them to close down then you wont have to buy so much paper to comunicate with them.

I see there are a few comments here from people in Nelson, and I will add to them. I received a call from Kasey at Retone from 09 929 3940. She advised that I'd previously spoken to her (which I didn't recall) and that she was going to send a liquorland voucher to us. She said the promotion was 'buy try' promotion - I could send back the toner if I didn't like it. Initially I had been led to believe it would be a free trial. However they wanted $472. I said no, I'd do my research and let her know. She said they'd beat any other price by 5%. Just be careful people.

I got a phone call about buying some printer cartridges for my OKI C301 printer. I was shocked to find out that their price is more than double from other supplier. The invoice showed some different names, like:

I'm definitely not happy to pay more than $700 for a set of toner cartridges which is promoted on the net for $240.

These people use tricky ambiguous wording to bamboozle you into thinking you made a purchase commitment when in fact you haven't. Annoying woman called Breeanne who keeps calling claiming we agreed to exceed stock because we accepted a bulk rate price. Utter bullsh*t

I have emailed twice to get a refund on 3 toners no response very disappointing who pays for 4 toners only one works and three have faded lines going across the page. very poor quality should not have been sold. there is another company down the road does the same thing with better quality.

I was dumb enough to try their product cause there is a company doing the same thing down the road so i thought it would be the same.
they convince me to buy two and after about a few weeks someone called me telling me they have great deal if buy now as the offer is limited. I told them I don't need it now as i have just received two, she made out that it was awesome deal. to my disppaoint out of all four only one worked properly the other 3 have faded lines going through the pages. i emailed them and haven't received a reply it was like a week and half ago.

We have purchased some toners from Retone at comparable prices to other suppliers but when they do not work they don't want to know about it where other suppliers are happy to fix the problem. When I phoned them they advised me that as from November last year they have not been able to replace them or refund us for them. I just told them to note our details and do not bother to contact us again. I also told them to shove all the products where the sun does not shine and I will be telling everyone to stay well away from them.They are just one big scummy scamming outfit.

This is exactly what happened to me!!!!!

Retone has been harassing our business for a long time, offering their service. In late August, they called again, saying they're confirming an order made in May. Note that nobody in the company has ever placed an order from them. We have consistently rejected their offer. Our new staff (who picked up the phone) was alone in the office at the time, so she didn't realise that the company has never made an order in the first place. She thought she was just doing her job.

The toner came in early September, claimed to be shipped from Australia. Upon finding out that we have never placed an order (couldn't trace any emails or phone calls to them either), we called them to explain the situation, wanting to send the product back. The Retone lady flat out refused to take it back. She was REALLY RUDE and was saying stuff like "NO, YOU'RE NOT ALLOWED TO SEND IT BACK UNLESS THERE'S A PROBLEM WITH IT". They insisted we placed the order and even quoted that we've talked to two people to confirm the order when that's again, a flat out lie cause we've only ever only talked to one person!

We double-checked with the rest of the office (we're a very very small company) to see whether someone might have accidentally placed the order but nobody did! They tried to charge us $356.50 for 4 bloody toners (when we've been buying the same toner for $20 each across the road). The apparent accounts Retone lady keeps calling wanting to speak to our accounts team, demanding payment!!!

TL;DR - ReTone called us, claimed we made an order (that we never made). They tried to confirm the order (which poor new staff didn't know has never been made), they sent in the toners that are WAY OVERLY CHARGED ($356.50 for 4 toners), won't accept it when we tried to return them and kept harassing us asking for payments. We haven't used their products and they're all still in the original condition that they came in.

Her name is Jasmine Miller. She did the exact same thing to me. apparently my company has a "contract" and it must be sent out. Just called to have it picked up at their cost as I wont be paying a cent.

Just spoke to Jasmin who insisted they send us an order which they could not deliver on time.
Has called twice now and we have advised her that we are not accepting any orders from them.
Would not provide a phone number either. Interesting...

Just got a call from Retone, the guy was trying to tell me that he spoke to me in March and that i took part in a survey and agreed to try their cartridges in June.....no i did not. Never heard of them until now. Kept saying, that's alright... told me he was running around the warehouse at the time.....i don't think so....no heavy breathing.....didn't seem to wan to give me a price. Wanted to know what i had paid for my cartridges...or toner..as he called it.... i ended up hanging up on him. He had a creepy voice...

Re-tone sales people are rude, aggressive and hang up when you call them out! My one was called Chelsea. Do not have any contact numbers to complain directly to them.
