Left a message on my voicemail saying it was the ATO going to prosecute me!

Obviously a scam. Bunch of amateurs saying I had an ATO debt. So I rang them back and punked them until they cried.

public prosecution don't leave shonky messages!

Just had a miss call by this number 9:15pm at night on a Sunday on a public holiday!

Received a call on this in the same vein as everyone else here....funny thing is that the number they called is my work number which I have had for two weeks, and as I don't use it on anything (as I have a personal phone), there is no way they could link me via this number to a tax debt! makes me feel sorry for them actually....that they are this silly. I am tempted to ring back and play dumb though, or say I am a member of the AFP (as someone else did here)...I think that would be fun to hear their reaction!

Gr a call from this number today they left a message saying I was being prosecuted for tax fraud, called them back asking questing, they stated is under paid my taxes by $1000 between 2010 and 2015 and the address they gave was from 9 years ago, knew something was fishy, he was telling me I had to pay or I would be taken to court, I said to him if you are the tax department you would have my seat ails, what are they? He then told me to go f**k myself and hung up on me, won't answer my number anymore, funny that

This page is great - we have also had this recorded robot voice message. Don't bother calling them back. It's a scam.

What annoys me is I REPORTED THIS TO THE REAL ATO, urging them to check reverse phone lookup!
I demanded that they have the number they use DISCONNECTED!

But the REAL ATO are yet to have the phone number these OBVIOUS SCAMMERS USE, disconnected!

Contacted by this scammer last week who said i owed $1400 for tax fraud between 2010 and 2014 and that I should pay immediately or that I would be taken to the courthouse and prosecuted! Yeah Right!
- I called the number back today and scammed them, gave a fake name and immediately they told me that they received an affidavit (against my fake name) for taxation fraud and could I verify my bank details.... LOL
I told them that I was calling back on behalf of the Australian Federal Police and that the call was being recorded..................... beep beep beep.
How dare he hang up on me!

Scam claiming to be ATO

Same as everyone else... got them same call today. I said nice try, send me something in writing. They said "See you in court"

Tried to rip my father off over $1800, claimed to be from the ATO and needed payment immediately. Didn't appreciate being called out as a scammer.

Same as everyone else, says from ATO, someone will be at my property within the hour to arrest me if i don't pay immediately.

My sister got a call this morning from this number and questioned me about this because I work for the ATO. It's a definite SCAM and it's making my job much harder because when I have to make a legitimate call, no-one wants to talk to me (worse than before!)

Called and left message to return their call. They called back later that day and threatened me. Said that they were from the ATO , and said we were being investigated for fraud between 2010 to 2013. Had our address but was an old one. Said we had to pay an amount of $900 immediately and said that we were to transfer money into account today. Advised that we'd need to talk to our accountant first and said that well if we did that and didn't pay immediately then if they took us to court it would be a $20,000 fine. Very aggressive and spoke with a bit of an accent.

Called - automated message saying it was ATO and public prosecution office and to call back, glad I checked here.

ATO scam - pending legal action! Told operator to put it in writing - he hung up.

Just received a call from the ATO apparently, but they we're abrupt and telling me I had a tax debt and if I didn't pay ASAP I was going to be prosecuted so I better have a good lawyer to keep me out of jail, this guy was a real wanker.
