I had the same voicemail message yesterday, it actually really shook me up for about 30 minutes while I wondered what the hell was going on.

Now that I know it was a scam I am really angry and would like to see the people behind this punished severely.

I got the same call today. I called back the number and said "how do I know you are the ATO?" They hung up. Seem like a scam

Just had a call with a recorded message in a robot voice saying that they were from the ATO and that the house was under surveillance and that it was a time sensitive call. They gave a number of 3837630 to call back on but of course it is not a real number.

I just received the same garbled message on my phone. I know someone who actually called back these scammers after they'd left a message on their phone. They must think we're pretty stupid to believe, firstly that their message is valid and secondly if anyone is gullible enough to call back, that they would be gullible enough to fall for the scam and hand over cash to them.

Got a robo message saying they were the ATO, have tax liabilities and have an affidavit against me and my house is under surveillance.
Numbers location comes from the ACT.

I received this call this morning, at 8.40am. I answered and listened to a recorded message stated above in many of the other messages.

I own two websites, and my details are not protected.

I think this might be where they got my details from.

Same thing just happened to me

Warning got a phone call today threatening a t o and said I was over 10,000 fines pice were comming and need to pay 1600 immediately told them to f*ck off and get a job

Automated fake ATO call

This is a scam. Recorded voice message saying my house was under surveillance like everyone here. That was the first alarm bell. I live in a unit. No Government or legal entity would follow a process like this. Second alarm bell. I'd like to know how they are able to legally obtain a legitimate NSW phone number. Don't bother ringing back. I have reported it to Telstra (in the Phillipines). They have no record of this number on their account system.

Just got this same recorded message about the affidavit and house under surveillance etc. I've also been getting quite a few calls from a blocked number lately, and when I answer, they hang up. Has this happened to anyone else? Wondering if it's related...

Same here... I think it's a scam – made me worried for a bit though. The message is rather threatening. Then I read all these posts. Thanks guys. Blocked this number from my mobile phone. (Why can't Tel Co or police do something about this?) A crime has been committed...

I got the same bullcrap message converted to text. I'm currently back and forth between states and the places I'm staying at aren't my current legal address. Bullcrap!

I am shocked, I received a call from this same number, i then listened to the voice mail, and it said that i have to call back, otherwise there are consequences.

I called back, and spoke to a man with a very thick indian accent, he looked my call up from my call back number, and said my full name. Then he said he needs my solicitors details as they have to send the affidavit to my lawyers, asap, as i am under criminal investigation for tax evasion, it sounds very dodgy, but at the same time he was very rude, and he said to get a pen, i said i dont have a pen, and then he shouted, and hung up, i dont know what to do?
