Called saying I am the prime suspect in an ATO case against me. It is a scam. Don't bother calling back, the automated message they left is very dodgy. If the ATO had an issue with me they would call directly I am sure. They wouldn't leave an automated message. Number reported and blocked as Spam.

I got the call today from the same number. It was prerecorded female voice pretending to be from ATO, saying that my house was under surveillance. The voice said: 'Call me back on...(mobile number).'

It's a scam. No government organisation would ask you to call someone's mobile number. I don't owe money to Taxation office or anyone else, so I just ignored it.

Buggers just called me too. Interrupted my run. Called back from my Telstra phone and it lit up like a chrsitmas tree reporting it as a scam...

I realised it was a SCAM, but it still got my heart rate up. If you were sub-30 years old, or a Pensioner, if could be REALLY scary.

Yea, me too as described here. I'm guessing that if you react in an assertive fashion then they hang up eg who are you? Give me your name? This has to be bullsh*t! Click. Then they block your number so you can't ring back. If you seem to be taken aback then they proceed to phase two which is to ask for money. Russian origin judging by the accent. I work in the tax industry. The ATO does not behave like gangsters.

This is the third time I have receive this call.

"There is an affidavit against your name and you are being listed as a primary suspect for a case being filed against your name and your house is under surveillance. So do not disregard this message and call me back as soon as possible on (02) 6188 6058. I repeat it is (02) 6188 6058. Remember delay in calling us may result in legal prosecution. Thank you"

received call today march 20th 2017 same as others heavy message saying affadavid against my name ,house under surveillance ,phone a number they gave ,i just hung up.
sort of new it was a scam.I did not dial the number going to block the 02 number as well.

Oh and Bob is not my name but will suffice - they said back tax fraud from 2011 for $1800

Yep, I got one too from (02) 6188 6058, how is it that the cops chat find, and hang these pricks. If someone was at the end of their tether, it could be enough for them to top themselves with this threat.

threatening message about a legal matter but when you ring back it answers and immediately hangs up I guess its a con ????

This is a Scam. Cold calling Phishing for information. Call advises that the person is subject to litigation and are under surveillance
