I had a similar call as the comment above. A voice recording from the ATO legal department that for some reason had my house under surveillance. They asked me to call back ASAP. I called from a landline and the number was Constantly engaged. Nice try.

This guy is hilarious. Call back for instant comedy. When I asked where he was (because the quality was very poor for a supposed Canberra number), he said "f*ck you bitch c*nt motherf*cker"). Oh, he's made my long weekend.

this is an Indian rin scam, claiming you owe the ATO money and that your house is under surveillance, they want your money. do not give them your details, the ATO doesn't work that way.

ATO scam - leave a garbled message, call back and a heavily accented man asks if you listened to the message then hangs up.

Received a very bizarre automated recording from a computer generated voice saying I was being prosecuted and I needed to call the number back. I did and some guy answered without mentioning a company name or department, I started explaining the message I received and he hung up on me. Tried to call it back and can't get through now, very odd

Voicemail left after a call not even long enough to actually answer, machine-generated message saying they are the federal crime investigation unit, that Im a prime suspect (didnt mention in what crime...) and that my house is under surveillance, and that I should not ignore the message and call them back immediately. Called them back, got hung up on after the second time I asked who I was talking to. Im pretty confident the feds would be at a persons door before they'd be leaving a machine-generated voicemail...
