They said they were from the Australian Government Grant Commission in Canberra, but they are NOT. They are Scammers. The VoIP provider for this number is www.symbionetworks.com and they provide a safe haven for these scammers.

Received a call today from a Brendan from the Australian Government Grant Commission in Canberra, he also said that I qualify for a $7000 grant no strings attached... during this time I went online and saw that this is yet another scam. He asked me to provide my personal details such as email... I then told him that he needs to be aware that the call is being traced to which he replied with an "Ahhh" and hung up. Next time I'll add that I am from the local police department and that the call is being traced... don't think they'll phone back again. Idiots, praying on people who are in financial distress.

Caller was Brendan ID # BK9810 and gave phone number (02) 6176 1346. Said he was from Australian Government Grants Commission Australia and was giving me a $7000 grant to spend however I wanted and it was from the government, something about Tony Abbott & the federal budget...? Gave name and birthdate details but he had home address... i called the number provided and thankfully my sisters mobile had the number come up as potential fraud.

I too had a call today re the very generous grant which I could spend whichever way I wanted, no need to pay it back, and just to confirm that we are sending it to the right person, could he have my full name and date of birth, to which I told him I wasn't about to part with my details, and he hung up on me.
I fear for those out there who are more trusting than many of who are not, and they will be ripped off, or have their identity stolen. If I had been braver and given false details, could have seen just how far these Scambags are prepared to go!

An indian man saying he was from the Australian Grant Commision and had $7,600 money return for me , Tax free of course , I asked for a call back number as He did have my correct first name and was unsure of my last name ..hahah so i asked for a call back number ..

He said he was from "Australian Government Grant Commission" in Canberra, offering a $7000 grant. However I soon realised he didn't know any of my details (ie like the fact I work part-time) which would definitely be knowledge to a Government agency offering a grant. So I said to give me a number I could call back on which was this number. It's obviously a scam so pls just hang up

Tried to scam me with a $7000 grant, couldn't answer any of my questions claimed I was eligible for a grant. Asked my income, when I said "if he was from the Govt., he'd know"... he hung up.
