Automated voicemail claiming there was a law suit pending against me and asking me to call back. First bit was cut off. I’m pretty sure that if there was a warrant for my arrest, they wouldn’t be informing me by voicemail.
Clearly a scam.

An automated message purporting to be from the 'ATO' claiming I am the subject of an investigation and threatening a warrant for my arrest.

The official ATO warns of scams such as these, and would in all likelihood call a person directly rather than playing an automated message.

Sent text message - You missed a call from (02) 6176 0877, who said "Brett to inform you that your account has been marked down for tax avoidance paper work sent to your registered address has also returned it back and signed(?) and undelivered(?)." This message was provided by Telstra at no charge to you.

The VoIP provider is Symbio Networks and the scammers pay to use their service, so that means Symbio are making profits from this and this explains why www.symbionetworks.com won't remove the phone number. I use www.freecarrierlookup.com to find the VoIP provider and in most cases it's Symbio Networks.

Tax office scam - ignore and block number

Received this call and as I have been getting so many that I don't recognise lately I thought i'd look on here first. Thanks for the comments everyone I now know I don't have to worry about calling that one back and can block it.

Just received a call from a Mike Johnson purporting to be from the ATO, claimed tax paid by me was only 1/2 of what owed from 2002-2017 threatened court if I hung up. I hung up and immediately called ATO and was put at ease straight away. I have now blocked the number.

I got similar call from (02) 6176 0877 and decided to ignore it

Had about 5 of these on my voice mail when I decided to check it yesterday... all from the same number.

The hilarious thing is that tax evasion is a civil offence, not a criminal one. Meaning the police can't get involved, and there would be no warrant for your arrest. At least not until you ignored the court order.

Automated ATO Message with some crap.

I called the number back and they said I had a warrant for tax evasion outstanding=. I asked if I could pay them now to make it go away and robotic voice said "no just go down to your local tax office and see them" he then hung up. Kind of weird as I was hoping to string them along for a bit... :(

So so disappointing to hear scammers leaving such threatening messages to honest Australian people. It’s beyond me how they can get away with it.
This is getting worse by the day: constant scamming phone calls from various numbers. Almost daily.
This is *not ok*.

Same as above. Tax avoidance. Warrant for arrest bla bla bla. I called back and asked them the state who they were as I worked for the ATO and we do not solicit web bots to call customers. Suddenly he couldn’t hear me and hung up! Funny that. Scam!

Bullsh*t ATO scam. Called them back and strung them along for a good 5mins before they realized I was taking the piss. Fake name, address, credit card number etc.

Everyone should do this as it’s highly amusing listening to their increasing experiment as they think they’re getting closer to pay day.

Sadly many people continue to fall for these scams :/
