Scam. They ask to call back on this number otherwise they will send the police to your doorstep or office of employment. Recorded computer voice.

ATO police action scam call. recorded message

I just received the same call & phone number as mentioned above, still have it recorded on my answer machine, i haven't rang the phone number yet !!!

Missed a call from this number which went to voicemail. Only recorded the last part of a longer message read out by a computer (last part is a return number). Voice sounded like a very outdated text2speech software like something from an original Macintosh or Dr Sbaitso by Creative Labs [if you know what that is you're over 30 right??]. In summary based on others reports I can only speculate Marty McFly has divorced Jennifer paid her out, paid his Son's bail bond, run out of money and hence the necessity to send his last remaining albeit retro possession "back to the future" in a final desperate attempt to scam us out of precious coin.

just got the same automated call ..i called back and the person had my name and told me that i had defaulted and that he was for the ATO ..I told him to provide an address for me to go and discus the matter .. ..after that he hung up...all a big scam..

Same as above - automated voice message left. Call not returned.

SCAM - DO NOT CALL THAT NUMBER: Recorded voice message called me on my mobile, the male voice said they are calling from office of public prosecution, Australian Taxation Office, if I do not call back them on 02- 6172 1098, police will be knocking on my door and I will be charged with Fraud.

I also received the automated message as well as an actual phone call the week before. He had my name and address. Said that I better get ready to go to jail unless I pay $3400. He has an Indian accent but calls himself John Brown or something.
My partner called the number back pretending that he was returning the call and falling for the scam and asking how he could pay. The guy was on to him and yelled GET F**CKED A**HOLE and hung up on my partner hahahaha.

Recorded voice threatening police etc. Hang up and block the number.

It should be a scam call. I got a recorded voice message from this number recently which declared that it was from Australia tax office. Police should investigate this number.

Automated message from Australian Tax Authority. Called back. Indian guy tried to convince me I would be arrested because i have not replied to 2 of his letters and there is a warrant form my arrest. Must pay $823.32 in Amazon gift card the he can stop all action immediately.
