Left message stating they were from the ATO. Believe it to be fake.

I received a call from this number advising they were from the Commonwealth Director of Public Prosecutions. They told me that they were suing me for money owed to the Tax office and that I was being charged with Fraud. I said bring it on. He said I hope you have a Good Solicitor or Barrister I said I don't need one as I have done nothing wrong. Bring it on. He said do you really want to go down that path and have fraud against your name, again I said bring it on as I know this is a scam. He terminated the call. When I called back he answered the phone and said it was the Director or Public prosecutions. I said to him I was cut off. He said they would proceed with the fraud charges. I said no problem I will report you to the Federal Police for misrepresentation and public use of a Government Agency. He terminated the call again. People don't be fooled they are at it all the time with different numbers and sometimes they say you were in a car accident and they are calling from the Insurance Company. There is nothing the Police can do as they change their phone numbers like they change their undies.

I also called them back, sounded dodgy, He claimed he was from the Commonwealth Prosecution department for the ATO operator asked for my name which I refused. He then hanged up.

agressive voice, claiming that as we have ignored previous calls about or Tax debt and legal procedings will proceed unless we call back. Idiots! it's so easy to confirm details with the ATO these days.

Left a threatening message claiming to be the ATO. In my experience ATO usually make contact in writing so I ignored it.

Tried to block this number but they keep ringing.

Male on hands free phone who advised he was Commonwealth Director of Public Prosecutions also told me that I had a tax debt. As I was unable to hear him clearly he told me that he would call me back but don't know how he will do that as I called from work phone that has no caller ID and I only gave him my first name when he asked me for it. Total SCAM. Sick of getting these calls. Currently registered with Do Not Call Register so would like to know how they are getting our numbers??????

This is the second year I have received the message - total scam. Just deleted the number again.

I missed a call from this number and they left the following message: 'Taxation office. To avoid any legal prosecutions on your name call ___ on 026169105'. Before calling back, I looked this number up in the reverseaustralia directory and identified that it has been used to scam many times leaving a variety of messages.

Extremely dodgy, recorded message saying he is from the ATO and my mortgage is under surveillance ... good try, I rent and don't have a mortgage. The whole call sounds fake. I hung up the first time then they called back and left another message saying that as they have called for the second time they will now commence legal action.

This number rang my mother and claimed to be the ATO and that our house was under surveillance because of a claim lodged by the ATO. Mum may have told them to 'f*** off' and hung up.

massive scam leaving a voice message saying tax office and will be arressted etc

Automated message yesterday claiming to be the ATO. A different message today in the same voice saying they've called twice and threatening to prosecute and "drag me in front of the courts". Played it to my friend the financial counsellor and we had a good larf.

I recieved 2 automated messages from this number threatening that I would be arrested and claiming it was tax related. I rang them back and told them I knew they were a scam (thanks to this sight and a bit of insight... I always pay my taxes!) and I would contact the police if they contacted me again. They hung up.

Scam - voicemail from very aggressive caller saying they were from the ATO and would drag me to court.
I just reported to the ATO by phoning 1800 008 540

My wife just had a text sent to her phone from this number stating that because she had not answered the phone on 2 occasions, they would issue a warrant for her arrest

Very dramatic language! As if the ATO would talk like that. Very unconvincing scam!

ATO ought to investigate them...

Pre-recorded robo message that had already started playing by the time I picked up. A definite scam, hang up straight away and block this number.
