Just missed a call from this number. When I called back they picked up & hung up straight away.

Total AHole scammers!! Nice try tho, till he said my child would be taken to foster care lol rang the real ATO just to check....SCAM

Had a call from this number (02) 6169 1016 to my mobile where a recorded voice mail was left. Called them from a land line and spoke to an "Xavier King" stating from ATO. Hung up after I asked "Why do I need legal representation". Called back from the landline numerous times, recorded voice mail from his number was "Person not available on extension SK ATO"

Calling it a scam.

SCAM!!! They get you really scared and confused. Hung up on them immediately

Answered call to a recording stating that they were from the ATO and acting on an affadivit and my house was under surveillance. Sounded authoritative. Scum of the earth.

Called me Today. Definitely a scam. Stated they were from the ATO and a affidavit had been filed against me.

This number left a recorded message with stating the phone number and saying it was regarding my legal prosecution. I too am assuming it's a scam.

Same as for Peter. This is a scam, warning message from the Australian Taxation Office that I will be prosecuted if I did not call this number. Also that I am under surveillance. Message in a threatening voice that is repeated. Received on my mobile. Very scary at first, but you can tell it's a scam.

Same message as the other people commenting eg recorded message saying it's the Department of Public Prosecution, primary suspect, house under surveillance etc.

Recorded voice claimed to be from ATO, said I have an affidavit against my name ... blah blah

I just received one too I called back then they hand up on me

Message left from this number on 31/1/2017 claiming to be from Dept of Public Prosecution saying I'm a suspect, home under surveillance, etc. This is a known scam.

Same call...

This number called me twice within minutes, as I was on the other phone. Did not leave a message so I called back as it the number showed up as 'Yass, New South Wales.' They picked up my call, but all I could hear was breathing. Supposedly, my 'name is under tax fraud.' What the heck does that mean? SCAMMERS. They need to improve their English and knowedge of our systems, the fools.

Called back this missed call. Guy answered and said he was with Tax Crime Investigations. When asked if that was a government department he said it was. Then asked my name and hung up.

Scam - same as above with message saying 'your house is under surveillance' with a strong accent, sounded Indian. Ignore this.

They also call using mobile number 0488 06497. This call came to my work number which is not advertised anywhere other than my employer and some government departments. The (02) number came to my Mobile. I did not answer either knowing they were scam or hawkers

I answered to call and after saying my name they hung up. I redialled the number (02) 6169 1016 and the guy on the other end of the phone told me this was the Australian Taxation Investigation Office. I told him I do not believe him and he replied F@cK you A**Hole and hung up on me. A Scam indeed!

Definitely a scam purporting to be from ATO. This was a bit different though as the guy didn't have a heavy foreign accent! Novel!

A caller from this number purports to be from the Tax Office Crimes Division. Me thinks this is a scam
