Message received this morning when I did not answer. A recorded message (American accent) says they are from the Department of Public Prosecution and are trying to reach me as I am a primary suspect and my house is under surveillance. Melbourne has an Office of Public Prosecution anyway, not a 'Department'. Scam.

Just called wanted my details when I said no I think this is a scam - he said "F*ck you you f*cking son of a bitch"...Geez the ATO's customer service has really gone backwards

I received this call today, didnt answer.

This number called me with a recorded message in an Australian accent that sounded slightly robotic, said they were from the ATO and that they'd found out about my illegal transactions or something, my house was under surveillance and that I better call them back ASAP. I knew it's a scam but it's a bit unnerving

Recorded message from a guy with an indian accent saying that my house was under surveillance and that I am a suspect of the Department of Public Prosecution. I had a good laugh.

Called Back, Claimed to be from the Tax Crime Department. Asked for my name, when I wouldnt say I was greeted with a lovely, F*CK YOU, YOU C*CK SUCKER, MOTHER F*CKING, PIECE OF SH*T.

I answered the call, only because it was an Oz number, got a stupid recording that repeated every 4 seconds.. Tossers................

Yeah same threat when i asked from my solicitor he said scam it is . 1 more thing when you recive call from these number asked from him ur detail he won't able to know your name or detail

Scammers purporting to be from the ATO

Got a call from this number, First claimed to be public prosecutions then to be office of Xavier king. Toyed with the d*ckhead for a little bit, if your gonna claim to be the ATO atleast keep your story straight. Going to keep calling this number all day and night, two can play this game.

Same as everyone else - spam from sydney. Remember it's important that you never say anything when you answer these calls - they may be recording your voice to use later to steal your identity. Many tele-centres use voice recognition software to check it's you, don't give these fools your voice :)

Hey guys.. yes, i had this happen today & it was very convincing because they didn't ask for anything. I truly thought that the police would be at my door & that they would seize everything i owned. He also said that the government would suit me for $100,000- I was worried, but at least i didnt show it to him.. i laughed & said good luck suiting a single-mother on centrelink !! Arseholes.. i don't understand what they gain from this..

The above comments are correct. Who ever tells you that you under surveillance??? Certainly not the police or the ATO! I didn't ring back because you don't know if they are going to bill your call at $100 / minute!

Yep full scam. Robotic voice claiming to be from ATO: you have unpaid debts, your house in under surveillance and you will be prosecuted.

Similar experience to others posted here. I didn't bother retuning the call. Sounds like I saved myself some verbal abuse.

Yep got this message this morning. Got such a fright . Fortunately it came up as a scam on this website. Thanks you. Not sure how to report so please let me know if anyone has any idea.

missed the call. left a recorded message saying the same as above. call failed when I returned it. A**holes

Same deal. Scared my family. Piece of sh*t scammers.

I received a threatening robo call from these morons, telling me I was being sued and my house was under surveillance. .. feel free to tell them how you feel I sure as hell did .... next I will do it with a whistle.
