Scammers trying to convince you that you are going to be arrested for ATO fraud if you do not pay them money.

I also just received a call from (02) 6152 8679/">(02) 6152 8679 saying:

Hi I am calling you from the Legal department of the Australian Taxation Office. The reason of this call is to make you aware that you have received an affidavit against your name. where you are being listed as a pimary suspect for a case being filed against your name and your house is under surveillance so do not disregard this message and call me back as soon as possible on (02) 6152 8679 I repeat that is (02) 6152 8679.

I just got a message today, that the Commonwealth Dept of Public Prosecutions has a case filed in my name, not that they knew what my name was! Caller was a woman with a British-Indian sounding accent. Something about tax evasion and tax fraud and that I or my criminal lawyer must call the moment I get the message, before I get arrested!

Mine was a recorded voice. Called me on 30/03/17.

Had a call form this number (02) 6152 8679 saying that I need to call them back urgently otherwise I could face criminal charges. I knew it was a scam and told him that I worked for the tax department, as soon as i said this he hung up. The phone line is disconnected when I tried calling him back to have another go at him.......

The issue at hand is very time sensitive, the very second you receive this message I need you to return the call as soon as possible on my department number which is (02) 6152 8679 I repeat it (02) 6152 8679. If we don't receive your call you have to face hard and legal consequences. To avoid all legal consequences call us as soon as possible. Goodluck. Thankyou.

Also received the same message today !!!

In response to a caller, that left a difficult to hear message, saying something about insurance I tried calling 02 8635379 +all final numbers in reverseaustralia but no results. The following day I got an automated message about a time sensetive matter, threatening dire legal consequences for not calling back on the office number (02) 6152 8679 but this number also switched off/not available. Reading here I see it is yet another scam!

Received one today, still going on I expect
