left a message and said they were from ATO and to ring back which I did spoke to an Indian man and he told me that I was being sued for an outstanding Tax bill but if I paid $6840 I would not be arrested in the next 45 minutes I had to leave the line open with him on the phone while I went to the bank then he would give me the account details for me to pay the money in. I did leave the line open but rang the police on the landline and they advised that is not the way things are done and that it was a scam

Received automated call saying it was from Aust. Tax Registry (??) and to call Nicky Johnson immediately and not to disregard this call. Looked up the phone number and found the above message.

I have had 3 missed calls
today from Nikki Johnson from the Ato!!! Do they think I'm stupid??? Definately a scam.

I received a call from this number, Nicky was the same person who left the message on the phone. I called the ATO directly and they informed me that no-one from the ATO had tried to call and that it was a scam.

I got a call today from the same phone number, lady called Nicky Johnson left a message saying that please do not ignore this message she is from ATO and we will take legal actions if you will not contact us as you owe money to ATO about $9400.

When I phoned back person called Aaron Clarke answered the call. He was so smart to me he told me over the phone that I am downloading your data from ATO and ATO have appointed us to review your old returns and we found some problem in you tax returns. Then he give me his Batch ID, My Case ID, and he was mentioning me some reasons of fraud which I have done in past. Then for the penalty payment he transferred the call to DAVID LEE and David listened to me and then he was saying that your penalty is $9400 if you will not pay then police will come to your place and arrest you in 45 mins and you will end up receiving legal and court charges of $35K to 52K in total with interest, lawyers fees, court fees everything all up. Plus 10 years behind the bars........

I said I haven't done anything wrong and till to-date I haven't received any correspondence from ATO, he mention lady called Liza went to my house and no one was there to attend her, then we contacted you earlier but you didn't answer.

Next what he said me that if you are paying the penalty amount via WESTERN UNION, go to any Western Union in half an hour and I will give you the details at that time. I realised at that time that this is the big fraud as ATO do not ask to send money via Western Union.....guys please take notes this is a real serious fraud......lucky I typed this phone number in google and all this notes helped me.........Thank you so much.....

received a similar call. asked me to pay $6450 and scared the hell out of me. When I googled and saw this, I relaised this was a scam so hung up

I also got a message claiming to be the ATO but when I asked the guy where he was located he hung up immediately.

I had recently same story like others here.. had received a call from this number and a guy claimed his name as David Lee asking $ 6000 owing debt from ATO. These guys are really good at convincing at the beginning and I had to stay online for 3 hours where withing one hours I found out it was scam but I still wanted to see their way of transaction.
It turned out be the western union transfer they requested and first guy I was speaking to had Asian accent but the other guy's accent was an Indian. He also mentioned the location for picking up money is hopperscrossing Vic(Wester Union) and he claimed the Pravartak D Patel will be the receiver so I tried getting all this information. However hopeless Burwood police did not initiate to track the location as that guy was still on line while I was in police station. I wasted my all time thinking that as much information I get it will be helpful to police but they just replied saying this happens everyday did not care and took some details written on their diary as usual..So be careful, I learned few things here, when this kind of calls come through they always check your identity(DOB, Full Name, Address) But they wont do it. Also the main part is always ask them what is your TFN on their file but dont give them and verify if they have your valid number. Best of luck..

Big time scam, absolutely frightened my elderly relatives by bully tactics with the same information about failing to pay ATO debt and having their accounts frozen and that the police will be arresting them. These absolute TROLLS have no conscience whatsoever as my relative had just literally walked in the door from the 4th day straight of Radiotherapy! I wish I could let them feel a little of the fear they have just put into 2 lovely old people.

i got same call yesterday from that number ,,,, that man said to me same thing ! he said u did a crime u didn't paid a right amount to ATO . u have to pay 5000 today to ATO otherwise police will come & arrest u within 45 mins . ATO OFFICER already came twice your home but u was not there .....than from my other number i did a call to my account & he said to me its scam ... please becarefull thiis type of scams ......thanx

Had a voicemail from this number as well. Asked me to call Nicky Johnson as well and not to disregard this message. Not going to call the number as is probably a scam.
