Message received on landline voicemail. From a person stating he was from the Australian Taxation Office. He said his name was Jason O'Connor and there had been a law suit filed against our name (not mentioning any actual name), and before the police arrived at the door we needed to call him back on (02) 6152 8615. After contacting the ATO on the official number it was confirmed that this was a scam.

Call from Kenneth Mathews saying we are going to be charged with tax evasion and to call ASAP. Sounds very suspicious

I received this exact same call on Monday - message on answering machine from Kenneth Matthews on (02) 6152 8615. Said they'd received a legal petition regarding tax evasion and fraud, and I should get my "attorney-at-law" to contact them. Didn't actually mention my name. I phoned the ATO to report.

Kenneth Matthews is trying his SCAM again.
He is NOT an ATO representative from Canberra. The number he left for me to ring was (02) 8880 0211.
Report all scams like this to the ATO, I did.

Kenneth Matthews needs to be shot....

We have had a voice message left today from Kenneth Matthews (02) 888 00211 with the same accusations of Tax avoidance. We have confirmed with ATO that the number he left is not an official ATO phone number and it has been reported as a scam.

Second time we've had a call from "Officer" Kenneth Matthews, each time with the same message. Called the ATO the first time, they said under no circumstances to ring the number.

Got a call from Kenneth Mathews. Message left on answering machine re. tax evasion or fraud. Ring back urgently or get your legal representative to call. Urged not to take this matter lightly. The no left was (02) 8310 6976. The call came on 17th March. This scammer is obviously still around.

I received a call from Kenneth Matthews 18/02/16 and he left a message as per above. Phone number he left was (02) 6064 2026. Seems he's still doing the same thing.

Similar message from Kenneth Matthews on 14/12/15 left on my landline regarding "legal case filed against you by the ATO..." etc etc. But the call back number this time was (02) 6064 2005. Definitely a scam I believe and thanks everyone for the confirmation.

Yes I had exactly the same call just know, it is very disconcerting.

The same thing happened to me - Jason O'Connor rang number left a message with the same number on my landline. It was repeated a week later with another message with a different number (02) 6100 8557.

Another Bullsh*t call from Kenneth Mathews.................hang the bastard

Here is the exact text from our message yesterday, 21 July 2015:

"Hi, This is Kenneth Matthews calling you from ATO Australia Taxation Office headquarter in Canberra.

We have received a legal petition filed against your name regarding tax evasion and tax fraud and we want you or your retained attorney of record to return the call. Our hotline number is (02) 6152 8615. I repeat (02) 6152 8615.

Again, this is Kenneth Matthews calling you from ATO. We want you to return the call at your utmost attention. Thank You. Goodbye."

Exactly the same message from Kenneth Mathews on my phone this morning. I've also phoned the ATO who are adding this call to their investigation list. Thank goodness I found this site, I feel much better after reading other posts.

Received a message on landline answering machine from an individual stating that he was "Kenneth Mathews" calling from the ATO and that a law suit had been filed against "your name" for tax aversion and tax fraud and to call him back on (02) 6152 8615.

Called this number back. As i actually work for the ATO i told them i know they are a scam. They decided to tell me they would f**ck my sister. They are using a Skype Number.
