Computer voice msg staying you are under tax fraud investigation. My guess is scammers. They tell you to ring them within 8 hours .-.-.

The ATO scam has a new number.

I have a message "You missed a call from (02) 6145 2659 who said "This is a final warning from The Australian Taxation Office. Urgently call us back on 026" This message was provided by Telstra at no charge to you.
This should not happen. What are the ATO doing about it?????

These cheeky bastards rang the wrong number this morning. I missed the call but got the voice message to call them blah, blah, blah so I thought I'd give it a go and call back. The most unprofessional approach to supposedly being a ato staff member.... Not likely mr phillipino!!! NOT TODAY!!!

Harassed for days on end with a final warning and 8hrs to respond to their call!!!

I got the same scam call. I didn't answer the call and it went through to my voicemail. I got the same spiel about legal proceedings were about to be taken out against me, etc, etc. I've blocked the number and I suggest that you do the same.

(02) 6145 2659. from supposed tax office threat of legal action.

I asked him to tell me who my accountant was, he hung up immediately

Yep, just got scammed big time and it took 20 minutes for me to work out. The "indian" speaking person had me convinced that I had done something wrong with the ATO and I owed them $3700. He gave me an employee number106431, case reference 96853, recorded conversation - this went on for ages and he was trying to say that I would have to go to Federal court. I thought it was strange and eventually worked out it was a scam. I reported it to the real ATO.

Had a call and left a message saying that it was my "Final Warning" and to ring back urgently. They can kiss my shiny metal ass.

I had two calls last week and two calls today. I had blocked this number. Total scam.

I received the same ATM scam call.

ATO scam, left a message on my mobile claiming to be a final warning and to call them back. I have had previous exposure to this same hoax.

Just had this call 2 times in the last hour. Will not be ringing them back.

We all know it's scammers, but to ensure my (several) experiences was noted - I rang ATO to report and it appears there are hundreds of people being harassed by this number and it is being investigated authorities .
Suppose the more reports they receive the better & chance something is done - but with the source being overseas little chance of that.
Have blocked this number now
