Recorded ATO Scam. You know, the type that threatens you with legal action. They could at least have used an Australian accent.

Was the message I received.

Recorded voice saying I have to return call to number given. ATO is filing a lawsuit 😳😳😳

Why is this number still active this should have been shutdown immediately and the person who paid for it prosecuted.. it's still a federal offense to impersonate a government official right ??

ato asking in a synthesised voice that unless i return call, possibly will be charged, etc... blah, blah, blah. came up as canberra number so could be quite intimidating to those not knowing about this.

Don't call back. Indian person pretending to be an officer from ATO. By law, ATO won't call you to discuss any disputes. Just block the number.

A scam... always a scam. None of these type of phone calls are legitimate. The ATO does its business documentarily. Phone calls don't cut it.

100% spam. Spoke to them and told them stop harassing me.

This number called my mobile and had a robotic voice, telling me that legal action has been launched against me. The ironic thing is that they were stupid enough to leave me a voicemail.

Claims to be from the ATO, claims there is a law suit against you and you need to call back. ATO deny sending these

Weirded out by strange American/electronic sounding recording, couldn't understand, hanged up and blocked the number from my phone.

Absolute scam! Asking for personal details that the ato would already have access too, asking for a dress etc. Do not call back!
