Received a voicemail from this number, told me a law suit had been filed against me and left a "case number". Told me to call them back urgently yet didn't call me by my name at all or make any reference to their business. Strong foreign accent. Just deleted and will ignore.

Scammer still operating. I wonder how long it takes for police to act on threatening phone calls. Surely it would be days, not months.

Call it back - it's good fun, pretend to be scammed and take up their time. It means they don't have time to scam other people. I think I'll give it another buzz now.

I received a automatic call from the "tax" office with name and badge number of caller threatening and demanding I or my lawyer call back. The number was (02) 6145 0063.

Just received a missed call 17 March 2017 from this number - I returned the call and the same deal as other reports - the heavily accented bloke (sounded like a call centre of some sort as there was a lot of background noise) told me I had called the ATO and that he was in Canberra and threatening legal action etc for outstanding tax notices. I terminated the call and phoned my accountant. No outstanding notices.

2 calls on the one day. one female, one male. I recognised it as a scam and deleted both.

Got scam call saying was from ATO and it was highly time critical and I needed to calm urgently or have my solicitor call. Gave case number. Quite well spoken English with Indian accent

Rings regularly. Usually shows up as a missed call, but never leaves message for me. When I've answered the phone, there's never anyone there. They hang up on me after a few seconds.

I think you should report that one to the police, just give em the number and they'll hunt him down because this is person talks about taking legal action if not returned which is a serious problem.

Yes they just tried to scam a friend of mine. They took ITUNES CREDITS as a down payment then called back same day asking for cash or he would be arrested at 4pm the same day. The reality is The ATO would need you to complete a tax return first and send you a letter of demand before they can start legal action on you. If in doubt contact the ATO directly from the number on White Pages. PS I am a government investigator and seen a lot of these scams. If in doubt also contact the caller directly by confirming their number from this web page or simply Google the name/telephone number.

Just had a call .same thing saying from ato but if you ring number back rings once and goes dead rang both home and mobile at same time just hang up

Scammer using an automated female voice requesting a call to this number, threatening legal action unless responded to as if everyone hangs around near the landline (??!!). Meanwhile not a mention of any business name, employee name, who the call is supposedly for, or what it's supposedly pertaining to. :/
