caller claims to be from the tax office and if some one doesn't call him back on (02) 6140 3491 then a Marshall will come knocking at the door and he will arrest you. He left a name of Jason Aquana and he had a Tax evasion notice against me, thing is he never said a name as to who the call was for and didn't mention an address that they were coming to for arresting me, he had a heavy accent and was very threatening and rude, I imagine if I had answered ( I didn't because my caller ID showed overseas caller) then he would have asked for money or bank details to pay for tax evasion or fine or whatever. Please do not fall for this new approach to an old scam.

Identical call to that of Margaret above. Date 07 July - 4:30pm. Message left on answer machine with same name Jason O'Connor. Threatening call indicating a marshall would turn up on my doorstep to arrest me for tax evasion, if I did not return the call to (02) 6140 3491. Twice stated he was from the ATO (Australian Taxation Office). This is a nasty scam.

Just received a message from Jason O'Connor with a European accent advising me that the ATO was actioning legal action against me in court and that a policeman would be arriving shortly to arrest me. Call him back on (02) 6140 3491. Will scammers ever give up lol. Hope someone arrives shortly to take Jason away :)

I received a message today, saying that there is a warrant for my arrest, due to tax evasion. The message was generic, in that they did not mention my name (as they probably don't know it) and they said the local police station will come and arrest me (they do not know where I live). They told me, that if I phoned this number (02) 6140 3491 then everything should be ok. Of course, I realised this was a scam and did not return their phone call.

Received same message on my phone on 22 Jan at 9.48 am. claiming to be from the Taxation Office and that a law suit has been filed against me and that a police officer will shortly be at my house to serve a warrant of arrest. Same Jason with a very strong European accent

This low life has also left the same message on my answering machine today.I knew straight away it was a scam.

Had the same call, with exactly the same speech word for word, so I asked they to tell me which police I needed to speak with as I work with a police officer on a daily basis. I also asked him to tell me who specifically he wanted to talk to, he hung up. Don't let these people try to trick you. Don't give out any banking details, as they should be under your tax file number anyway.

Just Had the same call. called back and told them where to go defiantly a scam.

Same call, same scam! sends shivers down my spine...image how many unsuspecting people could fall for this.

Got the same abusive message on my home number v/mail saying I would be arrested by the police (warrant for my arrest) Saying they were from the ATO - thought it was a scam. Glad I searched on here to find out it is a scam

Just had the same call from Jason O'Conner from the ATO, left a message on my phone-told me the local police will come around and arrest me for ATO fines. Just spoke to the local police and they told me it is a scam. Reporting now to Scam Watch.

Same as above, left 3 × messages on my landline. All identical so evidently prerecorded. Didn't call number (02) 6140 3491, so not sure ehat the point is.

Yawn! What a bore these scammers are, same old unimaginative tripe, I used to have a giggle but I can't manage even a smirk now. We need some fresh and inventive entertainment (but I would like 'Jason Oh-Quarnerr' as a dinner guest just to find out how many he actually traps).

How come no one has tracked the number down and arrested this idiot for some type of fraud..??

A Jim Foster from the ATO audit dept ...ID 5211HK ...called me and threatened that there was a warrant out for my arrest for tax fraud from 1994-2007 for $7287 and the Marshalls Office were coming to arrest me and they will have all the relevant paperwork. The REA ATO tell me that these criminals are scammers. He was threatening and abusive, when I said I thought it was a scam.
