Got a message on the home phone to ring a Mr Roger Bennet from ATO,being told we had a tax problem. They hung up when we started to ask questions. SCAM Wankers. They will be reported.

Had a call from same number! Saying he was Jason O'Connor! From the ATO!

We had the same here for my brother said that our house was under surveillance and to call them back immediatley so we did from private number and the number isnt even connected. Reported to the ato and they confirmed it is a scam syndicate operating out of the gold coast. We have had messages left on answering machine by these indian speaking p***ks daily for the last 4 months. How do we get them blocked?

Just had a phone call from this number - heavily Indian accented voice. Apparently the "Reclaim Finance Department" of the federal government owes me $6375 as refunds for illegal fees charged by my bank. Yippee. Unfortunately, the poor gentlemen on the phone didn't know if he was in Sydney or Canberra, confirmed a bogus name and date of birth that I gave him, and when pushed, could not name the Australian Prime Minister. Still, I feel good about wasting 12 minutes of his time.

I got the same call from Jason O'Connor at the ATO ... when I saw the number I didn't answer it but he left a voice recording saying that someone is suing me over tax evasion and to call him asap before the local police come with a warrant to arrest me... SCAM and no I'm not going to call him back !!!!

Received the call today. Still happening.

Had a message from Jason O'Connor from ATO (Scammer). Saying that there was a tax evasion issue and that I needed to call back before the police in my territory issue an arrest warrant. Definitely not from the Australian Taxation Office they are just hopeless scammers.

I ph them back 69 times to annoy them finally they gave in and I spoke to Jason lol well he was happy to tell me he has scammed many and our Gov carnt and wont do anything about this I even said I wanted to kill his wife and kids to get a reaction but he has no morals what so ever

I too have had this person "Jason Oconner"(Indian Voice) leave a similar message that the ATO has filed a suit against my name for tax issues and the local police will be issued with a warrant for my arrest. Please DO NOT respond to this and tell as many people you know about this particular phone number and the message it contains.

Left a message saying from ATO and that I had to go to court for tax evasion and to ring back asap before I got arrested. Shame I was talking to my tax accountant today and no mention of anything... Idiots!

Why are these people still able to make these calls after three months? Surely a lot of grief could be saved if phone companies could disconnect these lines after this many complaints.

Very rude and abrupt message on answering machine demanding payment to avoid arrest warrant being issued for tax evasion. What was scary was I was expecting a parcel from overseas (DHL) and the scammers seemed to have all the freight details as well as mine.

Yes folks this scam is still proceeding as of today 15th Oct 2015. Jason Oconnor is having a fun time I guess. Yes people it has been reported and it is under investigation. Rest assured it IS a scam ..... Happy Days

My mother was called too. They threatened her as well. She is elderly and was extremely concerned. Bastards. I called the number and it was a weird dial tone which sounded like it was being redirected. Has anyone reported this?
