Just got a call from this number too. Same message - ie there is an affidavit against my name (this makes no sense by the way, since an affidavit is a sworn, written testimony) and that my house is under surveillance. Got a fright but all signs are this is a TOTAL SCAM. The ATO or any other government body will never leave THREATENING messages, least of all, automated.

Yep - same just happened to me - Affidavit against name bla bla bla. I've contacted the ATO to report the scam

Just got a call from this number - a creepy voiced guy who informed me I needed to engage my attorney, sorry mate we don't refer to lawyer as an attorney in Australia! Also told him to bugger off and hang up

Just missed a call from this number, no voice message left but I called them back saying I was being investigated for tax evasion and that I hadn't been responding to any of their tries to contact me, I said I haven't heard anything about this and that I feel like if this was a legit investigation then I would have known about it at the start. He then hung up haha

I have a voicemail this morning, on my mobile phone, from this phone number. Message states its ATO, they have an affidavit against me and my house is under surveillance (its a recording). I have now blocked the number :)

Tried to say that I would be arrested in 45 minutes.

Number called as above, represented themselves from the ATO with the house under surveillance.

My number is a work number thats not even under my name, complete scam as far as I am concerned. Reported to ACCC, Scamwatch and Cyber
