Nonsense call from 'Kevin Shaw' (Obviously a digital bot by the sound of the 'voice'). Warned of Criminal Case lodged against 'you' (didn't refer to anyone in particular) regarding tax evasion. Notice there are similar complaints against (02) 6140 3445, and no doubt many others. Will they ever run out of numbers?!!!

Ok.. Enough is Enough. I have had threats against me from (02) 6140 3442 & (02) 6152 8673. I have contacted the ATO, Police and AFP. They also have my address, as it comes up when you do a reverse search on a residential number...What Bullsh*t. How do I block my number??

I also received a call this morning - same story. I want to know the source of the call, does anyone know this or how to trace it back to an address ? - I will lay charges if I can establish this. - Cheers

2 messages left on answering machine regarding a registered criminal case for tax evasion or tax fraud. No names were mentioned. Definitely male American accent, but gave an Australian number to call. Never heard of the 'ITO'! Grateful for this forum so I can be assured it's a scam. A bit unnerving all the same.

Still going on mid Dec 15. Surprised the (real) ATO hasn't shut this down!

Elderly mum contacted with similar story re tax evasion, serious consequences for fraud tax etc. A woman was talking, she left this same number. Mum felt it was threatening.

So received similar message today as everyone else! Obviously a scam, but would be frightening for the aged I would think! What can we do to stop these scams?

I came back from a trip to find that I had twelve unknown calls on my answering machine ,placed at various times of day. Only one message was left supposedly from the Colemanville courthouse and to ring the number. I will report it to Telstra and they can deal with it.

8:20 am got one of those "Your being contacted due to defrauding the TAX department ring this number back and ... " Nice try. Tax return done months ago and I know it's a SCAM.

Due to the number of phone scams and telemarketers we have all calls going to our message bank. Just heard this same one. If the ATO had a case against me they'd write to me first. Government bodies put everything in writing.

Similar 3 calls to Alison comment: "I received this call this morning. It warned me of "extremely serious consequences" and advised me to call my "attorney". I was told to ring (02) 6140 3442. I think I might also lodge a complaint with ACMA.

I also got a call from "Kevin Shaw" saying we were guilty of fraud, but didn't actually ask for anyone in particular. I already got my Tax Return so I know I'm not under investigation for Tax Fraud! I called their number back, gave them a peace of my mind and they just hung up on me. Ha ha.

I just got a call today twice left on my answering machine from Kevin shaw saying we are frauds and we are going to have a crimanal affence put on us. Both times he rang it is the same message so I thought I would google it and found this site. Which was great to find other people had calls from him as well. When I do ring the ATO I will ring them on there number not this number

I got the phone message tonight that came through yesterday to say I was to go to court on Tax evasion I am a 79 year old and it worried me dut my dear son has just found all of the complaints so he has set my mind at peace

I received this call this morning. It warned me of "extremely serious consequences" and advised me to call my "attorney". Someone was sniggering in the background when the call was suddenly terminated.
