The registered details aren't here because they are not calling from Australia, but overseas and route their phones via computer so an Australian number shows up. This site is to warn people about shonky number used by overseas scammers. Try ringing back the number and you will find it is disconnected or not in service.

I had the same type of phone just today..The fellow called himself Robert Ray from the ATO from Canniberra & was wanting to give me $7,600.00 that I am owed from the government.
The number he called me from come up as a private number.
The man called himself Robert Ray and had a very heavy Indian accent.
Then he called me back & was abusive to me saying what is wrong with you & Why didnt you call the number & provide your ID No...I said because it is a scam mate & Hung up on him.
The very Next phone call was to the Police & give them all the particulars of the phone call.
The police said it was more than likely a scam & they will ring the number to investigate this.
I have had a lot of dealings with the ATO & they dont usually want to give out any info unless they get there Id procedure & is first thing they do.
I am calling it a scam for sure...

Just called this number after a client received a call from them. Most unhelpful, said they were from the ATO, the "refund department". They didn't request any of the usual identifying information that happens when you call the ATO. They had told the client they had over $7k refund waiting (the client does not have any refunds owing to them from the TAO), gave them an Id Number. I would regard this as a suspicious call and NO Bank account or personal information should be providedd

Yes, I had the same call just today. I was told that some taxation regulations had changed. "James" (with an Asian? accent) emphasised that there was NO cost involved in claiming my "reimbursement" for monies taken from my pension by Tax Office over past 3-5 years. He provided me with an Application No. ID and quoted a number to call ( (02) 6100 8667 ) for the ATO in Canberra. And I'm apparently 1 of 30,000 people being processed at the moment!! Pretty sure it's a scam, but now I've checked the number here, I'm going to call it and see! I'm not expecting my bank balance to increase at all!

Why does this site no longer list the details for these numbers. Your and my basic details are there for all to see but the bastards who operate these shonky call centers and scams have no details on here. The call from this number was abusive and an obvious scam asking for my bank details so they could give me a tax refund. But again, I use this once wonderful site and all you get is others comments, none of the registered details.

We were told by an Asian speaking person to ring this number as it was a Canberra Tax Office and we were to receive a taxation refund. Has anyone had a similar call?
