claim to be the Australian Tax office- is a SCAM - they wont accept non showing calls- it rings once & then engaged signal. Leaves a threatening message ( American accent) claiming to be from the ATO investigation dept. and claim I'll be in big trouble if I don't leave my work site ( I don't work) and either me or my attorney phone them. Big Scammers

A digitally recorded voice claiming to be Officer John Smith from the ATO Tax Crime Division gave the above number to call. However, the wording of the message plus the fact I've been around the internet for almost three decades, made me suspicious. I'm concerned that other folks will fall for this scam.

I received the same message on my voicemail as missed the phone call and any smart person would realise the voice was a computer generated voice and not of Officer John Smith. If only there could be better measures to prevent these scammers targeting innocent people.

I have received the same recorded voice twice in the last four days. Very obvious scam.

Scam artist claiming to be ATO fraud department.

This number rang my phone claiming to be with the ATO Crimes Division requesting immediate return of call. They are scammers trying to swindle naive people out of their money. Not sure who to report this to but sounds like Indian rip off merchants.
