Hi, I was called on this number (02) 6100 3019 today from a guy his name is Adam Peters. He told me I had to pay $3682.00 in 20 mins to the tax office otherwise my property would be seize and the cops would come to arrest me. PLEASE DO NOT LISTEN TO THIS GUY OR RESPOND TO HIM. IT’S A SCAM. These people are out to steal people. This gave me the biggest shock today. I’m writing this to try and save many other people from this scam.

At 2.26pm on Friday 12.01.2018 an automated Americanised computer voice message left on my mobile says (with odd syntax for some sentences):
"Direct tax finally we regret to inform you that your account has been marked deemed for tax avoidance
Paperwork sent to your registered address has also returned back unsigned and undelivered.
Before this (your) petition needs to get filed, including the warrant for your arrest, now
before the case is sent for execution and to receive legal notification
or for more information contact (02) 6100 3019, I repeat (02) 6100 3019.
This issue is very time sensitive."

There are no references to any accounts I have with any business.
The weird use of pronouns sounds like a 'foreigner' trying to speak English through a computerised voice system.

The irony is, I had myself registered to stop spam and junk mail - now I get more!

Left voice message "You are being investigated for TAX Fraud, time sensitive please phone immediately.
I returned the call and when they answered they only said Hello so sounded sus.. I only told them I was returning their call.... told me they had a sworn avadavat against me. I told them I would phone the TAXATION general line because they sound like a scan and they immediately hung up

thank you - the same person just called my husband stating he owed $1500 to the ATO from 2013 & that agents were going to come to our house and arrest him. This man said his name was Deputy Leeroy Jones with a strong indian accent.
He told my husband that he had to pay $300 now & the rest in installments. I am waiting for my husband to send me this number so I can politely tell him where to go!!! these people make me so angry!

Got a call from (02) 6100 3242 by some scam artist requesting i pay $1900 at coles within 20 minutes in regards to Tax Returns not signed by myself or accountant which was a calculated or honest mistake therefor i needed to pay the amount over the phone or else id have sheriffs over to arrest me.
As soon as i told em i was ringing ato they hang up.
These people should be locked up and not see daylight.

This is a Voice over Internet Protocol number and the VoIP provider is www.symbionetworks.com and you can check for a numbers VoIP provider here https://www.thenumberingsystem.com.au/#/number-register/search . I suggest we all call Symbio Networks each time we get a scam call from one of their VoIP customers and then maybe Symbio Networks will do something. Symbio Networks number is 1300 789 653. You must realize that Symbio Networks gets paid by the scammers that use their service and this is the reason Symbio Networks appear to be providing a safe haven to scammers.

Auto-message called me on (02) 6100 3243 today and said he (Leroy Jones!) was from ATO and I had an outstanding tax liability that was required to be paid to avoid a warrant for my arrest. This is a scam. All ATO agents are required to identify themselves properly and only work on a reference number not your name.

Stupid voicemail about scam avoidance and to call back on 061 blah blah...

I had the exact same call yesterday and it was a recorded American computerised voice. I have just reported it to the ATO.

Answered a call from this number on my MOB and some fool had recorded a message saying I owed a few thousand dollars to the tax office & that if I didn't call back the police and all sorts would be on to me. Well the tax office audited my filings in 2017 and I came up fine. I'm reporting this one to Scamwatch, the ATO & anyone else who may be interested. DO NOT CALL BACK & REPORT THIS NUMBER.

Had a call blocked today by my app. WHO CALLED ME. Was same SCAM from "ATO" that I had a robotic call from yesterday but from a different number of (02) 6176 1003. Have reported both to scamwatch.gov.au. some elderly ladies in my area got scammed for thousands. it was only a quick thinking operator at a service station that questioned her about iTunes major purchases that she admitted that she was being chased by ATO. Unfortunately iTunes wld NOT refund money even at point of sale being cancelled. PLEASE BLOCK AND SHARE WITH FRIENDS ON FACEBOOK TO STOP THEO SCAMMERS.

I just received a call saying if I don't pay that they had a warrant for my arrest and to call them back and pay ASAP. Thank god my daughter is an accountant and told me that all was payed and not to respond to that number! I was so panicked and scarred :(

I’ve had several missed calls from this number, when I called him back he stated he was from the ATO and had sent several letter, I stated that’s funny because I have received all relevant mail with regards to my tax return so why would only this mail go astray, he hung up on me. He also asked several times for my name and address which I declined to give, I said surely he would know who he called since he had rang me and left a message. Very odd!

Glad I didn't pick up yesterday - same no. (02) 6100 3019 - my phone said it was a Canberra ACT number.

Some guy saying he was from ATO, he has a file that I have committed Fraud, it’s a jailable offense, I laughed and told him to put it writing, he said can you please confirm your email. They really must think people are so stupid, SCAM, SCAM, SCAM

SCAM!!! This is somehow more convincing than other scams, which makes it so distressing. And confusing. I have reported them to the ATO. They said they will investigate and they took many details. Initially is a recording that includes nasty threats like fines and gaol. The ATO does not operate that way. They will never do that. These wastes of space use scam names like 'Officer Bran Cooper'. Just hang up. Say nothing. Give them nothing. Then block their number or record their number as SPAM and do not answer. They are lowlife rubbish.
