Phone rang, I answered, they hung up wuthout saying anything. Seems to be a scam

Lol! Sure can l give you my credit card details now 🤣🤣

Getting calls from this number multiple times a day. I have blocked them but they still keep coming. On my work phone and my mobile. How do we get these stopped as no one in the telcos seems able to gag this lot!!

I answered, heard a short burst of tone (like a fax call) then caller hung up. Bit of a waste of everyone's time really.

7:00 got a call from this number. I seldom answer callers not in my phone's addressbook and I didn't on this occasion.
Sure enough, after checking this site - I avoided further problems.
Surprisingly they are using the same number - some keep calling within hours of each on wildly different numbers and supposed locations in Oz.
Telstra Guardian Phone was an interesting discovery among the earlier postings. Thanks.

Caller: Something about Government Solar Rebate

I always ask for the organisation name so I can report them to the Do Not Call Register. and they hang up super fast :-)

Claimed to not be selling anything but wanted to know my electricity retailer. Hung up once I probed them.

This is what they do to us as well! I also work at a medical practice, they've called twice today and so many times before, as soon as I've finished saying good morning they hang up!

Answered it as I am waiting for an important phone call.
Male caller with an Indian accent asked me immediately if he was speaking to (my name), I didn't answer the question and asked who he is and what company he is calling from.
He kept saying "Shaun/John, how are you?" I asked another two times what company, and he kept replying "my name is Shaun/John, how are you?"
I went silent and he went silent, and he hung up on me.

Caller: Government changes to electricity scam

Indian called claiming my electricity was going to be cut off by the government I hung up. Blocked the number

The number looked strange so I let the answering machine take it. Caller promptly hung up.

This number has phoned on numerous occasions. I didn't know number so let it go to the answer machine. Phone disconnects immediately male voice advises no one is able to take the call. When you try & call the number back, it is always the engaged signal.

This number has tried about 6 times in one hour, and several times the next.

From what I have been told, the computer dials several numbers at once. The person talks to the first one that answers.

Hence, if you answer after several rings, then the computer may have already given the first answered call to the operator. That is why if you do answer, there is no-one there.

Calls ad nauseum, day after day after day, three, four, five times. Fortunately I have call recognition on phone and whenever I see this number I simply pick up phone and never speak. They then hang up.
