I think it is a scam. This number was on the end of a message threating me with legal action for I debt I don't have!

Left a voicemail saying I had committed tax fraud and they were calling as a curtesy before they got the police involved. When I called back they told me I needed to give them all my details and when I refused they told me to wait for the police. Total SCAM

Scam! - called my mother claiming to be from ATO and that she has committed tax fraud

Rang them back, spoke to "Officer Joe" who could not even tell me what his location was - said it was awkward.
When I suggested "Auckland" he readily agreed!
Gave him a real mouthful of extremely colourful language and my opinion on such crims and he promptly hung up.
IT IS A SCAM.

This is the second time I have received this message within 5 days. It was left on our answering machine, and they're saying they're taking legal action, we're going to gaol, we have avoided tax, and they're sending out a warrant for our arrest. Very rattling message and quite scary. I have called Scam Watch Australia which is a government site and they're familiar with this scam. It's very frustrating and I hope they find and punish this scum.

Have had the same kind of call message claiming I have been reported for tax evation and would be arrested and go before the court if I do not call them back and sort the matter out Scam

Received two calls today spouting the same old tax office debt and tax avoidance story and that we would face legal action if the message was ignored. Called himself Brendan Teiler with an accent similar to South African. Scam!

"Hi this is Brandon Chilla. I am calling you from the Aus taxation office.The reason of this call is just to inform you that we received legal complaint under your name. The compliant is about taxi avoidance and tax fraud issue. Before we take the matter before the local district court and issue a warrant under your name, kindly call us back. Do not disregard this message and call back ASAP"

Received 2 calls from them with the above message.

I was left a message from this number (02) 6064 2061Saying they were contacting the district court to issue an arrest warrant and had to call them back. When i called them back they answered the phone as the Australian Tax Office. When I challenged who they were, they said I had the wrong number and hung up. I reported it to the Australian Tax Office on 1800 008 540 which is their scam line, they work with the police to track these sharks down.

A robotic voice said I would receive a summons for a TAX AVOIDANCE issue and to call them. The voice said its name was Brandon Tiller. I didn't phone back as there was no letter from Taxation, which I'm sure would have to arrive first. I just got my tax refund which was fine. If there's a problem, they put your refund on hold until investigated! And they let you know by email.

Yep just received a call from this scammer and I cant believe they have the balls to leave a message... blocked ...

Yes this is a recorded message from some low life piece of trash. Wish the Government would spend money on catching these rodents instead of arguing over gay marriage. Block number......!!!!

Reported. I've received the message twice in the last 2 days and also a few weeks ago on a public holiday. Very aggressive message delivered very quickly. Something about warrant for my arrest.

ATO scammers ... this call from (02) 6064 2061 when you answer the phone they play an automated message threatening you with legal action and also arrest. Do not call them back and give your details as the message asks .... call the ATO on 132861 and report it

Same story here told me they where from the ATO that I would be arrested for tax avoidance if I hung up tried to pump me for info...very angry and abusive scumbag

Received the same Ato message on my home phone. Knew it was a scam but rang the number to get further info. Told him it was a scam and he needs to stop and was told "who the hell are you to stop me". Absolute scum!
