Getting a lot of dodgy 02- calls including this number.

Caller: money scammer fake solar green company

Today on 27 February 2019 at 1:59 pm i had a telephone call from (02) 5866 2156. The male caller called on my home phone/landline. The male caller had a foreign accent. He asked for a person by another surname which seemed to me that the caller got the surname linked to my number from a very old numbering system or previous old telephone records (since my phone number has been unlisted and private for the last ten years or so). The caller said that they were a company in Springvale, Melbourne. They said that they were a Solar Green company. The caller said there was a new Rebate to which I replied: I know, theres also a Subsidy. I did not believe that this caller was calling from any legitimate business because: 1) the telephone prefix number area code showing on my handset caller ID begun with 02 which is area code for NSW in another state and most definitely not Springvale nor Melbourne. 2). And most importantly, I called the number back immediately and there was a message announcement: "The number you have dialled is not in service, please check the number and dial again". So even the caller's telephone number was a fake number. This was a telephone phishing money scam. The caller nor the company nor the telephone number were ever a from genuine business- they were all fake. Stay away from these type of callers because they're money scammers and generally calling from overseas. And there were fake call centers reported in the Australian media even in Queensland which some of these operators were facing charges from police.
