This is another ATO scam. I did return the call and they asked for my full name and the number that I was called on. I said that they should use the authenticated voice ID to retrieve my details and he said that I should stop wasting his time!!! Well I told him to stop wasting my time and he told me to shut up then .......

Called my husband and said "you are too late but it doesn't matter because you will be dead soon".

I have had at least 12 to 14 calls from those characters, and as there was no reply on my part they used different phone #s and the voices became stronger and stronger + the content of those messages more threatening! I contacted Scamwatch (Perth) who warned me about the scam.
Therefore, let that vermin waste its time leaving messages on your answering machine and delete them. If you happen to answer their calls, ask them for their full name and their ATO identification number!

Automated Scam Call

A recorded message, from someone with an Indian accent, claiming to be from the tax office and that you are involved in tax fraud. They also threaten legal action if you do not call them back. It is nothing but a scam

Indian guy that is a fraud. Says he is from ATO but when I challenged him on this he said I was very very rude. Won't pick up any of my hundreds of robo calls I have triggered on his number since. Wrote a program that will call him very 3 minutes for eternity.

Had these people tell me they were from tax fraud and investigation and they were sending the police to charge me with tax fraud and if I didn't cooperate the police would arrest me. Hung up on them

Received a call this morning from this number and didn't answer as it wasn't a number I recognised. Indian male left a message something about tax fraud and that I had to call them back immediately. Yea right! Definitely a scam as I have not been involved in any tax fraud!

Went to voicemail, got the end of a recorded message for tax fraud etc.

Ato scam. Never answer. Left me some messages with American accent.

An Indian guy called pretending to be from the ATO, started accusing me of fraud & asking for personal information!! I hung up.quickly, guessing it was a scam & checked this site.. & found several others had been called & reported them yesterday!
I've reported it to the Govt.

Voice call with recorded message pretending to be from the ATO, threatening lawsuit. Phone (02) 5306 2284. Unidentified voicemail when I rang back. Clearly a scam, do not interact with these idiots.
