Been happening since I was nearly conned into a Bitcoin scam that was not legit. Calls from everywhere now. Lol! I have enabled that unless a number is in my contacts it does not ring. Then I look it up on the internet and logit as a nuisance call. Have only had 2 calls that were genuine when I looked up the number and I added their numbers to my list so a win, win for me..
The governments don't care, Mobile Carriers don't seem to have an answer. I only have my services phone, elect /gas with Aust companies that actually have a call centre in Australia. Customer service is prompt and I can understand them.

Scam call telling me 200 will be debited from my card. Blah blah.
Our government needs to act on these nuisance and probably illegal calls from these muppets. Yet another number blocked. Will not be able to receive any calls soon I’ve blocked that many of these calls.

Received an automated message (American accent) saying that they were going to debit my account of $200. If I object I should call a telephone number that followed. Number only stated once, I couldn’t make out most of the numbers due to the automated accent. Attempted to return their call and it’s engaged constantly.

As reported by others. Robocall voice mail saying I'd be billed for $200 unless I called them back. Block number and the reported to scamwatch. I can't understand why the AFP just doesn't arrest and prosecute some of these scammers and also their telco's. After all it is an illegal use of a telecommunication service! Maybe they are too busy going through journalists underwear drawers? #angry.

Caller: Automated phone Survey

It is a market research company called something that sounds phonetically like "fee-os calls". They said they are doing a survey about legalising drugs by the ACT assembly.

I too live in Canberra. Number called twice within ten minute period. both times short ring ang - never leaves a message. If the matter is important enough for the caller to make the call, then they should leave a message. have block caller.

Called twice in about 15mins - I didn't answer. Glad I didn't after reading comments above. Thanks to everyone who shared so that I know the missed calls relate to scammers. I was very suspicious when they called a second time and didn't leave a message.
