The call came in from a Canberra number which I didn't recognise.ang He said he was calling from Google and Google Earth and needed personal information to register the business. We are a voluntary community group so I asked him to verify who he was - he told me to look up the number and it would verify he was with Google. He still tried to get names and phone numbers of people from the organisation. I told him I wouldn't do that. He still tried to press for info.

A woman with an Indian accent called and said I was in the draw to win some money, as i purchased a voucher. I started questioning her about this competition and the voucher I had allegedly bought, and she immediately excused herself and hung up.

Indian guy called asking about our business he saw on google, which is a holiday rental. He then asked to book from 10-15 June. I said where did he see the ad. He said I saw it on google. Interesting?! I said how many people are travelling with you? He hung up :-) The number came up from Canberra.

Knew my accommodation name and address, seeking accommodation for this weekend and then hung up. Indian accent.

Caller: Caller sounded like male voice with Indian accent

Called today and asked is this "my business name" and I said "yes", he said "can I make an appointment direct?" I asked what it was regarding and he said "you are in.. my location..." and I said "yes" and he hung up. This is info he would have got from my website or a fairly new business - this info is not available anywhere else at present.
Not sure why he bothered.

Caller rang me, knew my business name and asked my location then hung up. Was a man with an Indian accent

An Indian guy called, when I told him this is a eye surgeon's room, he said he is calling for appointment for his aunt, I asked him if she has a referral from GP to see the Dr, he paused and said let me check and get back to you. He just confirmed our address.

Asked whether my business was still operating with the lockdown. I told him no and he hung up.

Wanted to get location and my info and my identity before telling me who they are and purpose of the call.
These types are classic scammers who just troll business websites to extract your personal information.

Caller: Said it was Google

Said that Google had not registered my business despite already completing the process and requesting the postcard. Said we could register on line. I was suspicious so put him off. Called 2 more times put I didn't answer.

I have some free time so I go all the way with the phone calls. They seems to be a contractor that Google hire to lure business to sign for Google Business. Most of the Google Business are free, but the advertisement is not. I guess the tactic is that most of us will ignore or use the free feature of Google Business, but some of us will finally sign for paid advertisement, which is quite expensive, about $1 a click to visit to your website. The phone call seems to be harmless, doesn't ask me any private information, just guide me through the registration of my business on Google...

Said that they were from Google. I said to the Indian male "Google do not phone users at all". I said prove it and he hung up.

rang me, number was identified as being from Canberra, no one at the other end, I hung up, returned the call, no one answered

Said he was google, didnt buy it, pretty sure its not google. Number came up as Canberra.

Someone called from this number and trying to direct me in my web page.

I answered the caller said nothing then they hung up

Calling to provide SEO services. Adamant they were calling from google. Advised I wasn’t interested however kept going on. Hung up in the end.
