Stupid call from man with a foreign accent and limited English claiming to be from the "telephone department" of the ACMA and telling me that he was going to block all telemarketing and spam calls to my landline. (That would be good - in my dreams.) I wasted his time with questions for a while, and he hung up when I refused to provide my date of birth.
I've since seen an online alert from the ACMA warning of scammers purporting to be phoning on their behalf and claiming to be able to block unwanted phone calls - if you pay, of course. It's an outright scam.
