This is a number used by scammers who are pretending to call from the ATO saying you need to ring about tax invasion charges and if you don't ring there will be a warrant out for your arrest.

Caller: DEFINITELY SCAMMERS BEWARE!!!!! Received a call from a woman who gave me a name and an employee number from NBN Co, I went along with the conversation long enough to be passed to a "senior person" to get my registration details, needless to say he couldn't answer my questions nor give me points of reference online to the point he hung up on me as he obviously realised I was onto him. What I did get was they wanted to offer me 50% off my phone account for paying the next 12 months UP FRONT!!! I even rang the phone number back and they answered it as NBN Co so this is obviously the hot option for these guys at the moment. Most certainly scammers!!

Caller: NBN using (02) 4407 0027 Got a call from Susan Brown Operator No. 8600058 (Probably not her real name) about NBN connction. I ended the call. Received a call back from a 'John' who referenced Susan's previous call and picked up where she left off. I hung up on him after saying I wasn't interested in logging onto my computer. He then rang back twice - both calls going to my answering machine. The second time he left an abuse message. I called back the 02 Sydney number and got Martin No. 10001138 who knew of Susan but not John. Seams to be an interconnected NBN, Microsoft, ATO scam centre.

They called my 84 year old mother claiming they were from the NBN and demanded payment of nearly $300 or her home phone line would be disconnected. They were very persisted and kept her on the phone for 40 minutes until she gave them her card details for payment. She called me very distressed and I immediately arranged with the bank to put a stop on the card. these low life people pray on the elderly and use fear to get what they want.

I have had this call twice already and have reported it to the ATO. The ATO advised if they do call they do not call from an unlisted number and do id checks and give you a number and that you can find on their website. if you call this number back they will hack into your phone and obtain your personal details. DO NOT CALL THEM BACK!!!!
