I never replied either but got hit 3 times. Big argument with Telstra who said I must have accidentally subscribed to "adult" purchases. Boy, did I give them a mouthful!!!! When you check the ABN quoted on the bill - it is an invalid number. As soon as I pointed that out to them, they became very helpful. Bet it's a Telstra scam. Good little earner for them.

I have just had the exact same thing happen on my mobile... that I only use for emergencies... and have reported it to ASIC and the Telecommunications Ombudsman as well as to Scamwatch.
Telstra makes money from these dodgy companies and is fully aware of how unethical they are... but refuse to accept liability on behalf of their own customers.
It is worth contacting all of the above so they tale the matter more seriously and shut these companies down.

Good luck with trying to block. I have spent 3 days trying to find out what the charge is for, blocking it, contacting iG8 who are the company scamming all of us. Today I have contacted the telecommunications ombudsman as my service provider refuses to do anything about it, consumer affairs and ASIC to report the scam. I hope everyone else does this also as these scammers are making a fortune at the expense of unsuspecting people and need to be stopped.

same for me, a charge on my December account for $6.60 from IG8 Pty Ltd. I definitely didn't call them or enter any competitions. I did however keep getting some spam text messages which I reported. I have now taken WL's advice above and gone to the following webpage to stop it happening further.

Hi. I can't believe this is happening, I have checked over quite a few of my accounts and it has happened on numerous occasions. I put the barr on this but let's see if this works. I think it is pretty bad when Telstra cannot do anything about this.
What a scam - imagine how much money this would come to with this happening with so many people. SCAM!

Same faith as all of you.
I have contacted Telstra and banned aALL what they call "premium SMS services".
Yes, they are "premium" in getting our money.
I have googled so called IG8 Pty Ltd company and guess what, company is located in what it looks private house with perfect name "Perfection ave" for perfect scam.
Will call them to ask what did I get for this $ 6.60?
For those people who think is a phone call they my have done and no record of it- it is SMS they received.
If you do not send STOP text message in respond to original message, it is likely that you will be charged again.
Best of luck, I sorted mine.

Yep, I am another victim of iG8 and their ridiculous charges. I previously contacted Optus about 3 weeeks ago, and although they were looking into it, I have had no follow up from them. To date iG8 has charged $6 on 17th Sept, Oct & Nov. I have contacted them 17.12.15 on (02) 8303 8200 and been diverted to leaving a message, "and they will get back to me in one working day" I am about to lodge a complaint to Fair Trading.

its not telstra, its a 3rd party provider. read your contract and actually understand the charge before you go blaming a company, because you look like an idiot at the moment.

I have the same issue. Disgusting that Telstra doesn't take better care of it's customers by blocking this illegitimate company. I willtake it to the ombudsman.

Just got my Telstra online bill charge for $6.60 from this mob IG8. I'll be talking to Telstra on Monday and having my phone bared to 19xx numbers. There is no call in my phones calling history.

How does that work, none of my family where using the device on this day, all outside in fresh air!,,,

twice in 2 months we were charged $6.60 by IG8 PTY LTD, third party purchases for something we know nothing about. As Telstra customer I would like from you to take some action as this is very upsetting,

I recently received a bill from Telstra with 3rd party SMS charge of $6.60 which I don't know nothing about. Phoned Telstra today and they said they will Barr the future SMS on my phone but I have to phone ig8 pty ltd. When phoned 1300 no recorded message comes with asking to enter no starting with 9? Don't know where that no is. Going to pay Telstra $6.60 less from my bill. Going to the Ambudsman if problem does not resolve.

I just got billed $6.60 for a "so called Third Party purchase" from IG8 pty ltd. I didn't make any calls, messages, but it all happened at a time I was actually asleep!!!!! This is a SCAM that Telstra are a party to. Shame on Telstra. I will contact the Ombudsman and report it but looks like a heap of people have done this already, so what is being done about it????

Yes I noticed this on my bill and googled the name.... only to read all this info, its a scam...will get to a Telstra shop to sort it out hopefully and will let people know about it.
