Cost me a fortune until I woke up - $66.00 last month. Stems from entering a compeition to win Ipad. Rang one number for Open Marketing Pty Ltd - automated operator refers you to your mobile operator. Found another number and they said would unsubscribe me. Got a phone message immediatley saying I had been unsuscribed.

This website, Gogogy.com is based in Holland, but the scamming software it uses, as a licenced affiliate, is produced in Sydney by RingRing Studios of Wooloomooloo. This is the software development and licencing arm of an Australian publicly listed company, Mobile Embrace Ltd! Its head office is at 100 William St.Sydney. The CEO is Christopher Thorpe, member of the elite Middle Harbour Yacht Club, with his own yacht and crew at a young age. The Managing Director is Neil Wiles, who in Stock Exchange records credits himself with settng the compamy on its current course - which includes producing the scamming diallers of the type you fell for - "Win an I-pad" etc.

These apps are licenced for use internationally to outfits like Gogogy.com ,who for a fee get a share of the take every time someone puts in their mobile phone number. The telecom companies also profit, from the use of 1900 Premium Service calls that this generates.

Mobilefun4hours and the Trivia Club "competitions" are dialler aps produced at RingRing Studios and operated through subsidiaries of Mobile Embrace Ltd such as 8Z Pty Ltd.

My last post, containing the same information, has not been listed. Please do list this information so that these people can't continue to get away with their low tricks.

This software is produced by RingRing Studios, in Wooloomooloo Sydney - operated by the Mobile Embrace Ltd group, a Sydney based publicly listed company! It is not some overseas unidentifiable operation. Mobile Embrace is located at 100 William St Sydney.
The CEO is Christopher Thorpe, founding director, who was first interested in selling computer porn and gambling sites to earm a quid. He is a member of the elite Middle Sydney Yacht Club, with his own yacht and crew.

The Managing Director, Neil Wiles, credits himself with setting the company on its present course, which in part is to produce this scamming software. This is licensed to businesses with websites likely to attract the right customers - those that might fall for the scam - often young teenagers. In return for a fee, they get a cut of the take.

The telecommunicatiion companies also profit from the use of Premium Service calls.

The take is when you put your mobile phone number in the window and click submit to enter the draw to win an I-pad/I-phone/romantic holiday etc - you have now subscribed to a Premium Phone Service and $25 will be transferred immediately from your phone credit. This will be repeated weekly until you realise what is happening or what to do about it.

It's all legal - in a tongue in cheek fashion: they employ expert lawyers and app developers to comply with the letter but not the spirit of the law. . All the required information is there, in tiny grey print on the extremes of the layout,or in incomprehensible language,or on pages which somehow won't open. They are sophisticated middle class crims.Since June this year the regulations have become stricter, but they just find new ways to find the right suckers and sweet talk them into giving their mobile number. The Gogogy website is a good example.

If you have been scammed, like my friend was, contact your mobile phone company to complain and demand a full refund. If they won't, contact the Telecommunications Ombudsman. Write a complaint about Christopher Thorpe to the Middle Harbour Yacht Club in Sydney. Write to the Australian Securities Exchange about the activities of Mobile Embrace Ltd. under the directorship of Neil Wiles. They are in the business of duping - so Fight.
